Shadow Hunters Contest Round # 161: Shadow of the Ox
So important were they in antiquity that even the mythical Hercules had to fulfill here in Spain, one of the twelve jobs to which he was condemned by the Gods for having murdered his own children in a moment of madness: King Gerión stealing oxen .
Thus, the shadow of the ox is elongated and although it may not seem like it, during the Neolithic and until relatively modern times, the ox was not only, like gold, a bargaining chip but also, as with gold, wealth was also it was measured by the number of these robust animals possessed.
