Distorted Life - Entry for the Reflection Hunters Contest, Round 20
I took these pictures just for fun. Or rather as self-irony.
Because I've already told you that I'm probably the only young person in the modern world who can't take selfies. And that's really funny, because I used to be able to do that even with a film camera, and later with a compact camera.
And that's why I couldn't help but take a picture when I saw this interesting disco-style column, but not in a disco, but in a hairdresser's, while I waited for my hair to be cut.
It's really funny to see your image so distorted. But it even takes courage. Courage, to see yourself in a different way, from a different angle, such as you are not, or in fact you are.
What would happen, however, if we could see not only our image, but also our lives in this way - so distorted that we could look at it from a different point of view and with different eyes? Wouldn't all our successes, victories, mistakes and disappointments then lose their current meaning? To turn mistakes into successes and successes into disappointments and to turn the meaning of our whole life upside down, or rather to shift this meaning, just as these individual pieces of glass shift my image before my eyes.
What would happen if each of us had such a distorted measure and evaluator of his life at home, which would scatter the individual particles, events and decisions in life in an endless puzzle of particles constantly changing their places?
I think then we will just be a little freer.
