La poesía no es la cima es el ascenso
y al final del día qué es un poeta
Sino una suerte de anacoreta
curando con elixires de frascos dudosos
de ambarina apariencia y textura inquietante
contentivos de rimas altisonantes
o sutiles prosas que encienden rubores
que logran florecer en el más implacable desierto.

Es el poeta el dueño del arte
mayor o menor no importa
es la imagen cautiva que se libera en tu pupila
y te hace soñar despierta
es la palabra rozándote entera
restándote el peso de flechas certeras.

Es el poeta el chamán
que traduce el pensamiento de los dioses
portentos de musas de otras latitudes
escribiendo con la piel y la sangre
lo que solo se siente con el alma.

Poetry is not the summit it is the ascent
And at the end of the day, who is a poet?
But a sort of anchorite
curing with elixirs from dubious bottles
of amber appearance and disturbing texture
containing high-flown rhymes
or subtle prose that ignite blushes
that manage to bloom in the most implacable desert.

The poet is the owner of the art
major or minor it does not matter
it is the captive image that is released in your pupil
and makes you daydream.
it is the word brushing you whole
subtracting the weight of accurate arrows.

The poet is the shaman
who translates the thought of the gods
portents of muses from other latitudes
writing with skin and blood
what is only felt with the soul.
