Starting on the right foot, Lobook is an episodic initiative that I decided to launch by creating a very simple logo. As usual, and I stress it, it will only deal with my experience, nothing more.

What does it consist of? I'll summarize it like this, with the key steps of the process.

I get a book, usually buying or borrowing it. I read it. I take some illustrative photos to add as attachments. I provide a brief introduction and my personal opinion. In short, basically a blog like many of those that provide reviews. My vision, however, is more focused on providing a general and very concise idea of the book I have read, focusing little or nothing on anticipations of the plot and focusing more on my personal buying and reading experience.

And now let's get started!

This new episode takes inspiration from the Joanne Kathleen Rowling, novel with the original title Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2000), fourth episode of the “Harry Potter” series. The italian translation I read is Harry Potter e il Calice di Fuoco, curated by Beatrice Masini. The inside illustrations have been edited by Serena Riglietti. The first publication in Italy dates back to 2001. In the photo below you can see a cover image from which I have removed some parts to try to avoid possible direct advertising.

I bought the book several years ago, today it is possible to find it at a lower price in pocket formats. Excluding various discounts applied and instead considering only the official cover price, the price range at which it's possible to find this book in paper format in Italy at the moment varies from approximately €15.00 to €19.00. There is also an e-book format for digital readers and many other versions such as audiobooks, movie screenplay, illustrated versions, and so on and so forth. Pay attention to this peculiarity if you want to buy the classic type of novel.

Flipping through the pages

An unexpected guest in the old Riddle house. A guest who sneaked in, without asking for permission whatsoever. The old caretaker approaches to chase away the bad people but is greeted with the last flash of light his eyes will see.
Many miles away, Harry Potter wakes up with an imprinted dream, a dream in which the evil shadow of Lord Voldemort seems closer. The scar burns more and more often. He reaches the quidditch world cup competition with his friends, and there the strange events will begin that will culminate in his participation in a tournament as mysterious as it is dangerous to be held at Hogwarts. The rest, all to read.

The fourth episode of the Harry Potter saga. The much thicker and richer storyline, growing compared to previous adventures. Compelling, with a good pace, which is hardly lost in completely disconnected events, although there are some rare occasions. The fourth book definitively marks the transition between the first three episodes - rich in elements useful for creating the idea of ​​a fantastic world, its history, and those who live in it - to the next three, in which the struggle between good and evil becomes concrete and current. Inside the fourth book, it will begin to be revealed important pieces in the history of Harry Potter, of what really happened when he was still a child and why he managed to survive the will of the dark figure of Voldemort. The whole is peppered with new characters, with an interesting story that begins and ends within the plot of this fourth novel. There are some small differences between the novel and the film adaptation.

The writing style is maintained, brushing the features of a fantastic world in a more casual way, with less and less space for descriptions of the real world, the everyday one. Nothing to report that my eye fell on. Overall, I find it a good novel.

Personal Rating

The personal rating system is still in its infancy. Since I rely primarily on my involvement and not on the quality of the texts, this is the fundamental parameter that guides my first vote. The second is a vote - once again personal - which takes into account how I received the quality of the novel. I will call the first vote with the title INVOLVEMENT Vote, the second as GENERAL Vote. The grading scale for both will be a number between 1 (worst rating) and 5 (best rating), represented as stars (1 to 5).

To Harry Potter e il Calice di Fuoco, I give 4 stars to the General Vote and 4 stars for the Involvement Vote.
