This week, the theme is to write an article on the old fire card War Chaang! So let's take a deep dive into Splinterlands and meet with our challenger, The Gigantic war machines of the battlefield, War Chaang!

Father of Moghul Empire, Genghis Khan was a fierce warrior and he came to the power after reuniting many discreet tribes of North-East Asia.

He made the most reckless army in the world and his army marching could be heard from miles. many witnessed that his army not only had powerful and demonic soldiers but also mystic animals that were brought from different corners of the world and being tamed and trained by the highly skilled warriors. In the great war of those highlands, very few of the animals were difficult to train. One of them was Hellaphants AKA War Chaang!

Hellaphants are giant wild elephants from the remote Wastelands of the Unknown. Over 100-foot height, they have massive sized trunks that can turn into a bulldozer in the battlefield. They are vegetarian and generally live in peace in the deep forest, but since people have captured them and started using as war machines, they developed an all-time angry mood. The book of @Splinterlore also have some ancient documentation of War Chaangs as below.

They say that in the great battles on the other side of the world, Hellaphants were trained and outfitted as massive monstrosities of war. It was not generally believed that Hellaphants could be controlled until the Ferexia Torch began its Chaang Project. Hellaphants were abducted en masse from the Wastelands of the Unknown and taken to the training grounds near Mittreya's Hand. There, the Hellaphants were forged into soldiers to carry soldiers. They were moulded into a new type of war machine, called Chaang.

What is War Chaang capable of?

Let's have a look into his stats and find out!

  • Level 1 - In its initial level, it carries 2 melee and 1 range attack with 8 health and 3 speed. It brings the Retaliate ability with it.
  • Level 4 - At level 4, it carries 2 melee and 2 range attack at 3 speed and 9 health. It becomes a decent attacker card.
  • Level 10 - At max level, It possesses 3 melee and 3 range attack with 9 health at 3 speed. It also possesses 2 abilities with it at max level as stated below.

image.png

Retaliate

When hit with a melee attack, monsters with the Retaliate ability has a chance to hit it back and apply damage.

image.png

Trample

If a monster with Trample ability hits and kills an enemy, it will launch another attack to the next enemy monster in line.

Current Market Status

Right now there is a couple of high-level War Chaang available at the market and the price is starting from 0.30$ per bcx. The lowest one available is of 5 bcx and will cost you 2,587.992 DEC. The single bcx cards are starting from 0.40$ and will cost 688.406 DEC as per the current rate.

I already had one War chaang in my collection which I got from an untamed pack opening. But today I bought another 3 more and made it level 2.

Ruleset Of Battle

image.png

image.png

  • Mana count This match holds a mini 21 mana cap!

  • Summoners This battle supports Fire, Water and Death summoners.

  • Ruleset So, It was a dual ruleset as below...
    • Super Sneak (Every melee monsters will get the sneak ability and will attack the last monster in line).
    • Equalizer ( All monster will have the same health as the highest health holder in that battle).

It's a low mana match this time and I am thinking to go for the Fire summoner Malric deck with a group of melee monsters and the War Chaang along with it.

I loved the combination of both the rulesets, After a little thinking, I decided to go with a fire deck with all melee monsters that have high attack power and ignored their health.

Line-Up

image.png

FURIOUS CHICKEN

I chose FURIOUS CHICKEN in the first place just to protect the first place. I have a level 3 and it has 1 melee attack, 1 speed and 1 health. It does not carry any abilities at level 3.

image.png

CREEPING OOZE

I chose CREEPING OOZE in the second place because of its 1 mana low cost but it will get more health so I'll get a good defence at front. I have a level 8 and it has 1 melee attack, 3 speed and 3 health. It carries the slow ability with itself.

image.png

EXPLODING DWARF

I chose EXPLODING DWARF in the third place because of its high damage power and abilities. Thou it only possesses 1 health but it will get more health so I can now do heavy damage with super sneak. I have a level 9 and it has 5 melee attack, 6 speed and 1 health. It carries 4 abilities with itself. They are Retaliate, Blast, Piercing and Trample.

image.png

GREMLIN BLASTER

I chose GREMLIN BLASTER in the fourth place because of its blast damage and knock out abilities. Thou I only have a level 6 of this card, I have started to use him sometimes. I have a level 6 and it has 1 melee attack, 3 speed and 3 health. It carries 2 abilities with itself. They are Blast and Knock Out.

image.png

WAR CHAANG

I chose our main card WAR CHAANG in the fifth place because of its retaliate ability. Thou I only have a level 2 of this card, I am taking a risk this time to see if it can perform well in the battlefield. It carries 2 abilities with itself at max level. They are Retaliate and Trample.

image.png

COCATRICE

I chose COCATRICE in the first place because of its high speed and evade ability. I have a level 7 and it has 1 melee attack, 6 speed and 4 health. It also carries 2 abilities with him. They are flying and evade.

Battle Result

Well, the match was quite blurry to me but after the match started, it was really awesome guys! The opponent used the water Alric deck with nutral and water monsters on me but my melee monsters got able to survive and kill down the enemies one by one.

Let us now take a dive in the gameplay.

Gameplay

Battle Link

First, let us follow the opponent's line-up...

  • My opponent @pandapuzzles used Water summoner Alric against me.
  • At the front position, he used Gilatinous Cube Level 7. He chose an immortal tank to his front and I just hope I get able to kill this fat tank beast with my melee warriors.
  • At the second position, he used Cocatrice level 5.
  • At the third position, he puts Chicken lev 3.
  • At the fourth position, he chose Creeping Ooze lev 10.
  • At the fifth position, he chose Ruler of the Seas lev 4.
  • At the last position, he chose Crustacean King lev 10.

Especially in this 21 mana match, It was quite complex to guess which cards and summoners my opponent will use. When you ave very little mana in hand, you always miss out your favourite cards in the battleground. But the most important thing is to outrun the opponent that's why I took a little risk this time.

I put the priority on attack power and ignored the health count. The exploding dwarf goes fit into my requirement so /I took him first, next I chose our main card War Chaang and the Cocatrice also because of its high evade ability.

I was left with only 4 mana and 3 empty places, So I Chicken and Ooze at my front and gremlin at the middle.

The opponent also made a great deck and his Ruler of the Seas really gave me a lot of heat. But I somehow manage to outrun him with my furious foot soldiers.

Generally, I go with water or magic decks whenever there is an Equalizer match because, in total, you have a lot of health to destroy. But his time, as it was super sneak ruleset also attached to it, I decided to with a fire deck and luckily I secured the victory.

It really was a great match and my opponent also had a great line up. Champion players surely know him and he indeed is a great warrior of the burning lands. Only this time I was luckier.

Awesome battle!
I would have gone with Fire for this ruleset too.
LOVE being able to play low health monsters and watch them shine.
Plus, that War Chaang... PEFECT in Melee Mayhem.
