Bro. Eli told us we have two appearances which are the inward and the outward appearances. The outward is physical while the inward is spiritual. A lot of times, most people are investing too much time on the outward than then inward appearance.
Most women dress half naked and entice people all around. They are being led by the desires of their flesh. They spend too much time feeding their outward rather than their inward man.
Most preachers are not speaking against it too because they want to grow their Church than to preach the truth, so they care less what they put on.
2 Corinthians 4:16 (NIV)
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
We have been adviced to clothe our inner man because the outward man would perish but the inward man must be renewed daily.
The inward man should delight in the Lord. Most men are men on the outside but on the inside they are beasts who treats their wives with disdain or so much hatred. The inward man must delight in the law of the Lord. We are also told to help and also to be grateful for the help that we have received. We should not be the type to boast.
We are to examine ourselves to check the state of our inward man and see whether we still delight in the things of God.
1 Peter 3:3 (NIV)
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes.
