These are the lessons learnt from the teaching of Bro Daniel on Zoom.

1 Peter 2:9 (NIV)

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

The obligation of a priest is to offer unto God. God already called us a royal priest of His. For a priest, there must be something to offer unto God.

Hebrews 8:3 (NIV)

Every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices, and so it was necessary for this one also to have something to offer.

Sacrifice of praise is an offering to God. When we offer thanksgiving to God, we are showing forth the excellency of God.

Psalm 50:23 (NIV)

Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor me, and to the blameless I will show my salvation.”

One of the things that should be offered to God by a priest is thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a sign that those called by God are grateful. We need to learn to thank God so we can proclaim the good works done by God. There should be a manifestation.

We have an obligation to give thanks and through thanksgiving we are acknowledging His works.

Jeremiah 9:23-24 (NIV)

This is what the Lord says: “Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches,
but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord.

We shouldn't fail to give thanks to God because we are called into One Body so that means we should be thankful.

Being thankful proclaims the Glory of The One who called us. God is the source of everything. We will see the essence of what we are doing when we fully understand that thanksgiving is an act of offering to God.
