THE VISITATION OF THE KING BY FIRE (REVIVAL)

“What is revival one may ask"?

The word ‘revival’ is so commonly used that its true meaning is often lost. Revival is not a mere emotional excitement produced by inspiring songs or enthusiastic preaching which often results in a temporal state of ecstasy. Revival is not a human but divine product.

REVIVAL IS A DIVINE VISITATION –THE RETURN OF THE MIGHTY KING TO HIS PEOPLE IN A BIG WAY.

Thus revival is always accompanied by a mighty spiritual operations in the realms of conviction, revelation, and commission. In the realm of conviction, the Holy Spirit stands as a prosecuting attorney, bringing sins home to sinners. Sins that could not otherwise be owned up, are brought home with such a supernatural force that the sinner cannot help admitting and confessing them, as well as making amends where necessary.

Hidden sins are brought to light. Sins in disguise, so long cherished that they form part and parcel of the individual’s life and character, appear in their true color and are abhorred. The Holy Spirit goes as far as prosecuting for sins of omission as well as sins of commission. Hidden motives are dealt with as well.

The Holy Spirit causes the conviction to come upon the sinner with such gravity that he doesn’t need any pleading from anyone to own and confess them. This the convicted sinner does, regardless the cost.

The Holy Spirit, through conviction, having revealed the sinner to himself, goes on to receive Jesus Christ as his LORD Savior. This is the greatest need of the repentant sinner.

For conviction of sin humbles him and cause him to cry, “Woe is me! for I am undone as prophet Isaiah did.” (Isa. 6:5)

“What must I do to be saved” (acts 16:30) “ I have sinned; what shall I do?” (Job 7:20) Nothing then could relieve him as knowing that Jesus Christ is His Savior.

LORD SEND US REVIVAL:

The saviorhood of Jesus Christ is never better understood as when the Holy Spirit reveals it to a repentant sinner. He reveals Him as a ready Savior, seeking to save that which is lost. He reveals Him as a burden-bearer, seeking to bring relief to souls oppressed by sin. He reveals Him as a Redeemer-Friend Who has already paid the price of His redemption on the cross with His blood. He further reveals Him as a divine Savior-Guest, Who stands at the door of a sinner’s heart, patiently knocking and seeking admission within.

The boundless love the Spirit’s revelation of Christ brings to him melts the repentant sinner’s heart. This leads him to respond with gratitude, accept Christ as his personal Savior, receive Him into his heart, and crown Him his King and the Lord of his life. What a flood of joy in his soul when he receives the assurance of the Spirit within him that his sins are forgiven and he is made a son in his heavenly Father’s home.

These revelations dawn upon the sinner with such a divine illumination that he makes no mistake about them. The experience they lead to is so genuine that no theology is needed to justify it. Hence he rejoices thereby, exceedingly, and in the thrill thereof, tells others about it wherever he goes without being urged.

The special operation of the Spirit called REVIVAL, is mighty in all aspects. Revival is mighty in nature, being divine. It is mighty in scope, in that it can cover a whole nation. It is mighty in sweep as there can be no numerical limit to how many can share in the blessing. It is not subject to human limitations. It could be taking place in various places at the same time.

No time of the day is too early for it nor any too late. For the Spirit can work all day as well as all night. There is no place too high or too low too open or too secret for this work of the Spirit. It could be anywhere and at any time.

There is no impossible case with the Holy Spirit. No church is too dead to be revived, neither any people too wicked to be transformed. The Spirit does not respect persons. He deals with rulers as with subjects; wealthy as with poor; intellectuals, as with un-informed; high government officials, as with peasants. Dignified posts in the church make no difference when the Spirit moves.

Revival knows no denominational bounds. It is God’s blessing for His entire church. Anyone irrespective of age, race or creed, can be dealt with in revival. Yes revival is the coming down of the Almighty God, the return of the great King in His full majestic glory, to perform His mighty acts in and through the church.
