I apologize for skipping this post last week. In my defense, it was Christmas, so I was pretty busy with family stuff on Thursday and Friday.

I can only imagine how disappointed you were when you didn't get a #weeklyspins post. I am shocked all two or three of you were able to continue on with your weekend. :)

Alright, so let's dig in to what I have been listening to this past week.

You are probably going to laugh at this one, but the reason I know about this album is because of Captain America Winter Solider. Before that I had never heard of it. I have heard of Marvin Gaye of course, but this album had slipped past me.

If you haven't seen the movie Captain America was frozen for a time and suddenly finds himself in "the future". He makes a new friend and proceeds to ask him what he missed over the past 50 years or however long it was.

The other character who plays Falcon I think tells him to listen to the Trouble Man Soundtrack.

I took that advice and he was right. This really is a fantastic album. I have never seen the movie, but it looks like you can find it on YouTube if you really want.

If you are a fan of R&B/Soul music, I highly recommend you give this a listen.

I couldn't tell you how I first heard about the California Honeydrops. If I had to guess, it was probably something that popped up in my playlist after I finished listening to a different album.

It is scary crazy how accurate Spotify can be about what it thinks I am going to like.

I have really started to become a fan of the whole "new old soul" style over the past couple of years. Artists and bands like Mark Broussard, Ray LaMontage, Leon Bridges, Anderson East, and Nathaniel Rateliff have really brought that sound back.

The California Honeydrops give me that same feeling and they actually have a pretty impressive catalog of songs. I think they have seen the majority of their fame on a regional level, but I feel they have the chops to be a household name.

This song is one of my favorites of theirs.

Okay, I am almost ashamed at this one. You are totally going to laugh at me... As I have mentioned in the past my wife and I have been watching Peaky Blinders. Last night on New Years Eve we finished up the current season.

One of the things I love about Peaky Blinders is the music that they use for both the opening and many of the scenes in the show.

I heard this song in the episode last night and I immediately was drawn to it. Of course I have heard of the song War Pigs, but I am sorry to say I don't think I had ever heard it before. Thus my embarrassment.

I Googled some of the lyrics so I could remember to look it up at a later time. Of course now that I know it is Black Sabbath, I can totally hear it, but before that I didn't know who was singing the song.

It is a classic and absolutely deserves a place in one of my go-to playlists.

So that is what I have been listening to this week. Go ahead and leave a comment and let me know what you have been listening to.

Better yet, write your own post and use the #weeklyspins tag.

Ha! I just watched Marvel's Winter Soldier again last night, which is when he meets Falcon, who plays him Trouble Man. Nice timing! Also, that red Bon Jovi record is hella sexy. Happy New Year!

Oh, good call. I had a feeling I had the wrong movie, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I will edit the post. Yeah, that album was a Wal-Mart exclusive. They had a bunch of them a month or so ago.

Hahahaha all these apologies for just two or three of your followers? I do hope indeed they could have good night rest missing out on a post by you. That said, I'll increase the low numbers of readers and listeners with a staggering 25%, and will be the second one to comment to this post, that an increase in attention of an amazing 50% {LOL} {LOL} {LOL}

Hmmm what have I been listening to this week, Well, this morning I've been listening to this one posted by one of our fellow HIVE members @otherworldlytune (his post)

A performance I really really love as you also can read in the comment section of the guy's post :)

Added to that, am listening (mostly parts and sometimes the full track/song) the music of many HIVE users who either create their own music or created a cover.

For instance, I like the album by @mfarinato. He is offering it for free download in this post: https://ecency.com/ita/@mfarinato/sistaconcludendounannofuoridallordinario-bw6gj3i9pvnuaaz9dgss Super friendly guy and had this great idea to distribute his album for free and send a postcard with album cover to those giving him postal details to provide something physical. Super cool concept!
