Because three is always better than one.

The cactus blooming season is over. There are currently 2 flowers left and soon they fade too. This is the time to grow more roots, more stems, fatter bodies and seeds pods!

IN the very last moment I managed to shoot all three Gymnocalycium cacti that did bloom for me this year. They were slowly opening one by one and I was posting about them with more details. But I did not want to miss the blooms waiting for the rest. I Still got lucky and while the little one in the front was blooming with second flower, the white one opened only one and the big pink just started with the second.

Yay!

Beautiful little trio!
And to my surprise the smallest one is on its 4th flower! It just opens one, drops it and starts growing another flower. Pretty cool especially that no other wants to bloom anymore.

The white one is the only fragrant one - Gymnocalycium Anisitsii. Also my oldest cactus from that type.

The tiny one on top with one faded flowers is Gymnocalycium damsii var tucavocense . Very pretty, multicoloured one. And very eager to bloom.

And last but not least, the big pink flowers on Gymnocalycuym Friedrichii. The body of this one is beautifully red all year round! Cool plant :)

I am so gonna miss seeing all three blooming together.
I think the Friedrichii will have another flower later on. But now it is just on and off. The flower boom is over.

(Edited)

Most cacti need cold and dry winters to bloom in spring.
Without it they will grow, but they will think it is always summer.
