Flowering my Gymnocalycium ragonesei

(Edited)

Gymnocalycium ragonesei is native to South America.
It is the smallest cactus of the genus.

Its color is grayish-green, sometimes almost gray or brownish-green, less often almost brown.
I like brown more.
And since this color is less common, I have several of them.

Gymnocalycium ragonesei has a flat-spherical shape, up to 5 cm in diameter and up to 2.5 cm in height.

In summer, it is recommended to keep the Gymnocalycium at a temperature of + 20-24 ° C.
But we have a very high temperature in Cyprus in the summer, so my Gymnocalycium ragonesei is kept at a temperature of + 33 - 39 ° C.
In extreme heat, Gymnocalycium ragonesei can "burrow" a little in the ground.
And it makes me smile!

In winter, it is desirable to keep it at a temperature of +15 to + 18 ° C.
But Gymnocalycium ragonesei can withstand lower temperatures up to + 5 ° С.

This cactus is very light-requiring, it needs a lot of bright light, especially in winter.
And also he is very picky about fresh air.
Where I keep it year-round.

Gymnocalycium ragonesei begins to bloom from 2-3 years.
If properly cared for, it will bloom annually.
Its flowers remain open for a long time, from a week to 10 days.
And I really like it!

For its transplant, after purchase, I used soil for cacti, added a little sand and a little charcoal.

The photos I were taken with a Lenovo TAB 2 A10-70L tablet
