Going cactus mad

I have been buying quite a few cacti from the succulent supplier and I got a chance to indulge my love of Gymnocalycium and a few others. I don't know the names of some of the new cacti I bought so @cooltivar @ewkaw @ludmila.kyriakou please feel free to help me out. 🌵🌵🌵 @simplymike this is more incentive for your nascent succulent growing habit.

I think this is Gymnocalycium mihanovichii, the non-mutant form that's capable of growing on its own roots. I'm not keen on those round red and yellow weirdos that must be grafted to survive

Why do I like Gymnocalycium? They are small cacti that sometimes form clumps, depending on the species, they are easy to grow and mostly have curved, innocuous spines which makes them a pleasure to handle.Despite their small size, the flowers are huge and spectacular.
The only mistakes you can make with growing Gymnocalycium is to keep them in too much sun: they prefer partial shade or to grow them in any medium that contains limestone.

This might be Gymnocalycium marquezii

I think this is a red form of Gymnocalycium tuvocavense

I have no idea what this one is but I think it may also be G. tuvocavense

A highly variable species, the next ones are tuvocavense too

I was extremely lucky to get this little one, it's Frailea castanea. They aren't difficult to grow but uncommon in cultivation they never get much bigger than about 5cm in diameter. The weirdest thing about Frailea is that they can produce seed pods even if the flowers never opened and the flowers only open on extremely hot days. They are also not lovers of extreme amounts of sunlight

I think that this little purple specimen is Eriosyce heinrichiana

I have no idea what this character is so any suggestions are appreciated

I first started growing cacti in my teens but then later when I had space to grow indoors, I had went through a stage of killing them. I'm trying again and learning not to overwater them and enjoying the privilege of being able to grow outdoors which is what stimulates cacti to flower. Most need to feel the seasons change to know when to flower
