🔹"Nature doesn't exist, because it's a human conception" - The Art of Love, Erich Fromm.

🔹I know that that affirmation might have kept you thinking a bit... and that's the reason why I wanted to start this post with it. Think about it: we the humankind invented "the nature". It makes sense, right?, it doesn't?, let me be a bit more descriptive: It wasn't until the man gave a term, a guttural sound, or just a denomination to every single thing around, all of that was already there, "existing". And because of mankind's desire to conquer, to feel superior, of our possessiveness (capitalistic, if we want); is because of the ego that is whitin us, that trough evolution we've achieved these civilizations we call today: "cities". This created the urge to make a term for what was outside these parameters, "that" which gave us all and allowed us to set straw huts on the ground (made with wood), which then formed villages. Villages that then were ruled by a castle (made of stones) and so on... To denominate everything outside these spaces-societies we choose the word: "Nature".

🔸"La naturaleza no existe, porque su existencia es una creación humana" - El Arte de Amar, Erich Fromm.

🔸Sé que quizás esta afirmación te ha dejado pensando... y he decidido abrir este post con ella por esa mismísima razón. Piénsalo un segundo: los humanos inventamos "la naturaleza". Tiene sentido, ¿no?; a ver, voy a probar siendo un poco más explicativo: Antes de que el hombre otorgara un vocablo, un sonido gutural, o simplemente un denominativo, a cada cosa a su alrededor, todo eso ya existía. Y es por la existencia del hombre, por su afán de "conquistar" de "sentirse superior", de su "sentido posesivo" (o capitalista, si se quiere); por el ego que a todos nos acompaña, es que a través de la evolución hemos alcanzado estas civilizaciones a las que hoy por hoy llamamos "ciudades". Esto provocó la necesidad de encontrar una denominación para aquello que estaba fuera de estos parámetros, "eso" que nos lo daba todo y nos permitía erigir chozas (con madera y paja), que luego fueron villas, villas que luego fueron gobernadas por un castillo hecho de piedra, y así sucesivamente. Para nombrar todo aquello que rodeaba estos espacios-sociedades, escogimos la palabra: Naturaleza.

🔹By it's etymology, "Nature" comes from the latin word "natus", which is "nasci's" (to be born) verb participle. This verb originates from an indoeuropean root which means: "to give birth or to breed" (source: Eti).

🔹In other idea, they say that from Latin also originates another concept: "natural flow of things; character, quality, constitution of the universe" (source: OED).

🔹So we weren't so far in the introduction paragraph. Nature is that which gave us all so we can rise as humankind. Why do we keep damaging it, disrespecting it, and continue to take advantage on an irrational level from it?. Here I am not talking about not using the intelligence that distinguish us as human race, to use the conditions around to our favor; I am talking, precisely, about the fact that most of our time in this earth, we have rarely used that SAME consciousness to create balance... nevertheless, nature is so powerful and is so much within us, as we are part of it, that its strength is unstoppable and unavoidable.

🔸Por su etimología, "Naturaleza" proviene de la palabra latina "natus", que es el participio del verbo "nasci" (nacer). Este verbo proviene de una raíz indoeuropea que significa: "dar a luz o engendrar" (fuente: Eti).

🔸En otro concepto, afirman que desde el Latín, también se desprende otro concepto: "curso natural de las cosas; carácter, calidad constitución del universo" (fuente: OED).

🔸Entonces, no estábamos tan lejos en el párrafo introductorio. La naturaleza es aquella que todo nos ha dado para erigirnos como humanidad. ¿Por qué insistimos en dañarla, vejarla, irrespetarla y sacar provecho irracional de ella?. No hablo aquí de hacer uso de la inteligencia que nos caracteriza como raza, utilizar a las condiciones del entorno a favor; hablo, precisamente, de que en su mayoría durante nuestra historia, jamás hemos hecho uso de ESA MISMA conciencia para generar equilibro... sin embargo, la naturaleza es tan poderosa y está tan arraigada en nosotros, como nosotros somos parte de ella, que su fuerza es indetenible e inevitable.

🔹Those spaces that were once taken to exploit the natural resources and to put money in our pockets when we called ourself "owners" of some land que decided to "privatize" so we can call "ours", today bloom again thanks to the complete abandonment of places like this one.

🔹"Dust to dust, ash to ash". Is not a surprise to realize that such huge machines, which are absurdly enormous, today are rusting to the wind, which carries part of the iron, back to the dust it once belonged to. To watch how we humans are capable of turning something as primitive as a mineral to forge shapes and figures that fulfill a role, is worth of admiration, worth of giving ourselves an applause.

🔹We truly are alchemists!. I wish for us to be able to learn and be alchemists of our own energies and thoughts, faster than it took us to realize that such discernible "wonder" as the so called "industrial revolution", left us with consequence as big as a hole in our ozone layer.

🔸Espacios que una vez tomamos para explotar los recursos naturales y enriquecernos al llamarnos dueños de un área que decidimos "privatizar" y denominar "nuestra", hoy vuelven a florecer gracias al abandono absoluto es lugares como estos.

🔸"Del polvo vienes y en polvo te convertirás". No es de sorprenderse entonces que semejantes maquinas de tamaños aparentemente irreales, hoy por hoy se oxidan y el viento devuelve parte del hierro a la tierra, a la que una vez perteneció. Ver cómo los humanos somos capaces de tomar algo tan primitivo como un mineral, para forjarlo en figuras y formas que cumplen una función, es digno de admirar, de darnos un aplauso.

🔸¡Somos verdaderos alquimistas!. Ojalá aprendamos ha ser alquimistas de nuestros pensamientos y energías, más rápido que lo que nos tomó darnos cuenta de que aquella aparente "maravilla" a la que llamamos "revolución industrial", había dejado una secuela del tamaño de un hoyo, en nuestra capa de ozono... ¿de verdad nadie lo pudo prever? ¿o será que a las grandes corporaciones no les convenía revelar tal verdad pues, a fin de cuentas, no iban a vivir para sufrir las concuencias?, esa idea siempre me ha dado vueltas en la mente... probablemente no obtendré la respuesta en esta vida.

🔹Actually, I could spend a whole life writing analogies about how everything that came from the earth, goes back to it and how that fantasy of desolated cities being re-ocupated and filled with life comes alive. That life we like to dust off our shoulders, to ignore, that discomfort us; that life we urge to cover with an umbrella when it burn our heads, and when it wets, we run and hide under any roof. That life which enters your house sometimes and makes you run (maybe scream), frightens you, makes you sick and gets you to your most primitive instincts of superiority, believing you own the life of this planet, calling yourself both judge and excecutioner, so you dare to decide what lives are important and which are trivial, simply because you aren't capable of turning your ego aside and let yourself see that between that bug and you, there is no other difference than a semantic meaning of shape... In the core, we are all the same and are destined to become that, we never were: nature.

🔸En realidad, pudiera pasar una vida escribiendo analogías sobre cómo lo que viene de la tierra, a la tierra vuelve y como la fantasía de ciudades desiertas que son re-ocupadas y vueltas a llenar de vida se vuelve real; de esa vida que queremos sacudirnos, ignorar, que nos desagrada; esa vida que cuando nos quema, usamos sombrilla y cuando nos moja, corremos a escondernos bajo cualquier techo. Esa vida que cuando entra en tu casa, te hace correr (quizás gritar), te provoca espanto, asco y te hace recurrir a tu instinto más primitivo de superioridad, creyéndote dueño, amo y señor de la vida de este planeta, autodenominándote juez y verdugo, tomando el atrevimiento de decidir cuáles vidas son importantes y cuáles son insignificantes, sencillamente porque eres incapaz de dejar tu ego a un lado y permitirte ver que entre ese bicho y tú, no existe más que una diferencia semántica de forma... porque en esencia, todos somos iguales y hemos de convertirnos en aquello que nunca fuimos: naturaleza.

🔹I'd like to use this space, this moment and these minutes you are dedicating to read this, to tell you that you and I are not so different. I care about you caring for yourself first, because when you love yourself, you love me, that I am an extension of yourself in this long brotherhood's chain called: mankind. If you take care of yourself first, and I take care of myself first, when one of us needs a hand, it is more probable that we will be in conditions of helping each other.

🔹I firmly believe that the ills of our race are born in fear, because is the immediate emotion opposed to love; think about it: what motivates a country to start a war? the fear of being harmed. What's the motivation behind a person to hurt another? (physically or emotionally) the fear to be disliked, minimized, powerless or, sometimes, the fear to face the reflection of the mirror that the other person is. Love is that peace we feel when we listen to our inner voice and do something that favors us and favors the other in the same measure. It is called: win-win relation and there is always, ALWAYS a way that leads to that answer in all the matters needing a resolution... but I'll get deeper on that topic later, because I've already went of flying with the words.

🔸Quiero utilizar este espacio, este momento y estos minutos que has dedicado a leerme, para decirte que tú y yo no somos tan diferentes. Que me importa que te quieras a ti primero, porque al quererte a ti, me quieres a mi, que soy una extensión de ti en esta larga cadena de hermandad llamada: humanidad. Que si tú te ocupas de estar bien por y para ti, y yo me ocupo de estar bien por y para mi, cuando uno necesite del otro, seguramente estaremos en condiciones de ayudarnos.

🔸Creo firmemente que nuestros males como raza nacen del miedo, pues es la emoción inmediatamente contraria al amor; piénsalo: ¿qué motiva a un país a atacar a otro? el miedo a ser vulnerado. ¿Qué motiva a una persona a herir a otra? (física o emocionalmente) el miedo a sentirse menospreciado, minimizado, impotente o, en ocasiones, el miedo a enfrentarse a la verdad de verse en el espejo que es la otra persona. El amor es la paz que sentimos cuando hacemos algo que nos beneficia y que beneficia al otro. Se llama: Ganar-Ganar, y siempre, SIEMPRE, existe una respuesta de este tipo, a todos los asuntos que queremos resolver... pero de esto hablaré luego porque ya me fui "por las ramas".

🔹Last, but not least, I guess that where I am trying get to in this post is to extend an invitation for you: Embrace your mortality and you'll live forever. Yup, as you read.

🔹Those who understand that our time in this world isn't "short" or "long", but finite, limited, get to comprehend thad there is no certainty about tomorrow, or the next few hours, or even the next few seconds. This post could never see the light, because my time could come right now, as I write these lines... or it could happen that you never read it, because you left this physical plane before it was published. But if we are here and now, connected by these words, is because life (/universe, /God, /etc.) definitely has a greater plan for us.

🔸Por último, creo que a lo que quiero llegar en este post, es a extenderte una invitación: abraza tu mortalidad y serás eterno. Así como lo acabas de leer.

🔸Quien entiende que nuestro tiempo en este mundo no es "corto" ni "largo", sino finito, limitado, entiende que no existe una certeza sobre el mañana, ni sobre las próximas horas, o los próximos segundos. Este post podría nunca salir a la luz porque mi momento pudiera llegar ahora mismo, mientras escribo estas líneas... o podría suceder que tú nunca llegues a leerlo, porque partiste este plano físico antes de que yo lograra publicarlo. Pero si estamos aquí, ahora, conectados por estas palabras, es porque en definitiva la vida (/universo /Dios /etc.) tiene planes para nosotros.

🔹I know I've found my purpose in life and anything makes me happier than the fact of knowing everything I do, serves that purpose... And you? Are you clear with your purpose in life?.

🔹If the answer happens to be "Yes", I am glad that we are navigating in the same ocean, in different ships. If the answer is "No", keep searching with faithfulness, conviction and listening to your inner voice. Tides will join us eventually.
