Playa de San Sebastian - my favorite beach on Gomera (Canary Islands)

Yesterday I wrote about the beautiful de Cueva beach, and today I want to tell you about the other beach - de San Sebastian. I was on this beach almost every day, here I sunbathed and swam in the ocean. It may look a little less pretty than de Cueva, but here the ocean is calmer and you don't have to worry about big waves or dangerous ocean currents.

I've never been to a black sand beach before. The black sand is of volcanic origin. It is also significantly mineral-rich. There were also thatch parasols on the beach. Luckily, I was on Gomera out of season so I never had a problem finding a parasol for me.

It created a wonderful shadow. I took a mandala scarf with me or blanket to the beach. I placed stones on its banks so that the wind would not blow it away. I put part of the scarf in the sun and some in the shade. So I was able to sunbathe, and at the same time I was not too hot. I also bought local juices, the mangoes and local Fanta with unusual flavors were delicious.

From the beach, you could see ferries and ships arriving. It was fun to watch them from a distance. I remember that I even painted one of them. It had many floors. It was a cruise ship. Unfortunately, I can't find this picture, and I'd love to show it to you. Maybe in some time he will paint something new.

It was a wonderful place to relax on this beach. Peace and quiet, few tourists. You could have a wonderful rest listening to the sound of the waves. Loved the hill by the beach. When I was swimming in the ocean, I would swim to it. I swam a lot on the mattress.

I bought a mattress in San Sebastian. I entered the shop where I saw many useful things on the beach, but I couldn't find a mattress. There was a problem, because it was one of the first days on the island, I didn't know Spanish, and the seller - English. Luckily I asked another Spaniard who knew English and Spanish and since then I know the mattress in Spanish is called colchón.

On the volcanic beach you can find many interesting stones, such as. I liked walking on black sand, nice pilling for feet.
