Traffic stop - Oatman Arizona style

Old Route 66 from Kingman to Oatman is a narrow, twisting and mountainous sliver of pavement. Beautiful southwest scenery awaits the driver at each turn - as well as an unusual traffic hazard along this stretch of highway....

Descendants of the burros used by the prospectors/miners over a century ago these wild creatures now roam freely though the arid landscape, where they are content to share "their" road with the autos.

And even though the burros are wild they have long been accustomed to the human traffic and are happy for the opportunity to look for a tasty treat.

Have to say our Lulu wasn't impressed by the curious visitor.

A nice little diversion in this stark, rugged yet beautiful landscape.
