Village Marriage in Pakistan| Throwback Time

Today , I invite you to the journey with me To an enchanting “Village Marriage” where each moment is a big chapter, where every smile tells a story and where every ritual stepped in a meaning. So grab a cup of tea and engross yourself in the magic of “Shaadi” means Marriage. . As the world acknowledged , the Pakistani and Indian weddings collide the rich tradition and norms in the painting of love . Wait , there’s more ! Where there’s a difference between Asian and other marriages, there’s also a contrast between Urban sophistication , rustic charm and city’s modern marriages. Lets dive in together as I share some delightful Wedding Memories. 💒
Last week , I have attended a wedding of my Cousin brother in Village . The groom side journeyed all the way from England to Pakistan for their son’s wedding and for the union of their loved one with a bride from Pakistan. It is a pull of the ancestral land, where bonds are built not only in blood but also in shared moments of happiness and sorrow.
What makes the village marriages truly enchanting? These are the waves of rituals , customs , formalities and norms like doodh pilai , bid , salami , dance and Attish Bazi (fireworks) .
There are mainly 3 main functions in a marriage . Mehndi , Barat and Walima (reception) .

This picture is from the mehndi function. Here Im adorning the hands of bride with henna. Here’s a fun fact behind this picture .

As I delicately carved the name of her beloved groom onto her hands with the henna, a blush slipped onto her cheeks, adding an extra layer of sweetness to the moment. 😂❤️ Mehndi is a way to wish the bride prosperity and good luck for her upcoming married life. . This function is so much fun. It includes dances, music, jewelry, dholki (a small instrument that women play to sing songs), and of course, food.😂

The NIKHAH . The nikahh is an Islamic marriage ceremony where bride and groom legitimize their wedding in the eyes of God in the presence of witnesses.

I Captured that Nikhah moment of bride where her hands were shivering , her eyes Were reflecting a mixture of fear and excitement, and her heart was full of overwhelming thoughts with a bittersweet realization that her life was about to change in many ways she couldn’t fully understand. This is the most heart touching moment for any girl in her life.♥️

Ah, watch the legendary “Bid” package , the secret weapon of the groom’s side to win over the hearts (and sweet tooths) of the guests !😂 It involves almonds, dates, candies, and nuts , basically it serves as a sweet dish after nikhah . But here’s the twist , as soon as bid began to distribute in the hall , every woman , man child dive into the sea of sweets , elbow flying and echoing of laughter off the walls. So , If you ever find Yourself at a wedding where bid is on the loose, gather yourself for a rollercoaster ride of laughter and a pure comedy chaos and may be just a little bit friendly competition 😁 among the family members

In this picture, the girls from the groom’s side, including myself, are showering the rose petals on the couple to welcome them . It is a Pakistani tradition for welcoming the new bride into our homes. As we joyfully showered the couple with roses to bless their union, there was a moment of unexpected laughter . Just as I went to

Throw my rose, my shoe decided it was the perfect time to slip off, causing me to lose my balance and stumble forward in a burst of petals and laughter. I couldn’t help but blush with embarrassment, but thankfully I didn’t break my ankle . Somehow it added an extra touch to Lighthearted humor and memories. Because the most memorable moment are those which we least expect 🌹 👡😂

So it was the love , laughter and happily ever afters . Until next time, beautiful souls, keep spreading love and making memories that last a lifetime. 💖✨

Bye bye 😌

Cousin marriages are always fun which are full of enjoyment and excitement. You have narrated throwback with the help of beautiful words.

Well, I always try to get two packets of "Bid" only to get double of almonds.

From the pictures displayed it must have been an awesome experience. I have not experience much traditional marriage since I have barely had reason to travel to other cultures for marriage ceremonies.

Our culture is too rich with these type of events, functions and gatherings. We enjoyed a lot of fun in these events.
I really liked the dholki part and ludo in the wedding events.
Such a colourful event you have shown which reminded me of many wedding ceremonies of my cousins.
