Cat and mantis

Today during my walk I saw the following scene. The cat was sniffing for something. I walked closer to see and understand what was going on. And I saw that the cat was trying to grab a mantis. But you know the praying mantis won't let itself be hurt. He got into a pose and tried to bite the cat. It's an uneven fight, isn't it?
I took some shots from a distance because I was afraid to get close. This cat is a stranger to me, I don't know if he has an owner. Yes and the mantis was belligerent; Who knows where it will jump, and I'm afraid of them.

That IS a pretty remarkable set of pictures! Those insects can be pretty fierce; I've had one take a swipe at my finger once, and there was blood! So yes, the cat would be cautious...
