Cheers to the Hive!

OK today after i had returned from shopping @millycf1976 informed me that it was international IPA day and asked if I had bought any beer. To which I responded

INTERNATIONAL I P YAYYYYYYYYYYY

and promptly headed back down to the supermarket to hunt down a few specimens to sample. How could I let this occasion pass me by? I mean I don't really do Christmas or even celebrate my birthday much but IPA day?.....Hell yes!

So upon my return I emtptied my shopping bag to reveal what I had found.

This is my Haul !

I was very happy with what they had on offer, plenty to choose from.

A fine selection and no mistake.

So now I must bring myself to sample the goods, to partake in the celebration of all things IPA!

This Twisted Knots is a little hoppy beauty that is made using American hops and packs a fairly good punch at 5.5%. Very tasty and easy to quaff one after another!

Never to be outdone the Scots in Edinburgh bring us the Mosaic New Relic weighing in a pretty good thump at 5.6 and it goes down oh so easy.

at 4.8% the Steam is a good session IPA meaning you can down alot of them without getting too 'Steamed' 😉

and this 5% Hatherwood IPA is a very nicely balanced IPA with just the right amount of Hop flavour that doesn't overpower the brew leaving a satisfied after gulp and making you reach for that next bottle readily with no remorse!

This was my pick of the bunch tonight Down SOuth Brewing's Counter Culture. I could happily sit and drink a dozen of these and just keep asking for a refill as its refreshing, tasty and just the right amount of punching power to make you aware you are boozing! I mean you should feel it or what's the point?!?!?!?

Wa a great selection in the local supermarket. Was very pleased. Nice to compare. I think out of all of these the counterculture one was my fave

What a nice selection of some of the best style of beer in the world. I still remember the first IPA I ever tried, about 10 years ago - it was Seirra Nevada; the first I'd ever seen in a bottle shop before (at the time, Australia doesn't get a great deal of new imports).

Happily, the craft IPA brewing scene down here has grown exponentially since I tried that first one, and the selection is pretty robust now! I'm yet to see any that you posted about, but will keep my eyes open.

We have friends arriving on their narrowboat tomorrow so i am headed back for a refill. The craft brewery scene has really opened up beer drinking and made it way more interesting and some of them are mmmm delicious and a good price i find as well in the supermarkets here

Yeah. Some of them are great. I tried a few of those Imperial IPA’s but found the alcohol content overpowered the flavour.

Sadly, we can’t buy beer in supermarkets. It would be handy, but I’m not sure the government will ever allow it. We can get the zero alcohol ones now, but that’s kind of like drinking decaffeinated coffee.
