Cada vez nos acercamos más hacia el final de este Catar 2022 pero eso también quiere decir que el mundial cada vez se va pareciendo más a ese torneo en donde vemos enfrentarse a las grandes selecciones del mundo y al que estamos, por lo menos yo, tan acostumbrados a ver desde hace unos cuantos años ya. Sin dudas este mundial ha sido un poco atípico en el sentido de las grandes sorpresas, no esperábamos que equipos como Australia, Senegal y la misma Estados Unidos llegaran a los octavos de final pero lo hicieron jugando a un futbol que les sirvió para dejar atrás a otras selecciones que si podían tener ese pase asegurado solo por el nombre. Pero bueno, nos dimos cuenta que en un torneo tan corto nada está escrito y esa es su magia, nos guste o no tanto.
We are getting closer and closer to the end of Qatar 2022 but that also means that the World Cup is becoming more and more like that tournament where we see the great teams of the world facing each other and that we are, at least I am, so used to seeing for a few years now. Undoubtedly this World Cup has been a bit atypical in the sense of big surprises, we did not expect teams like Australia, Senegal and the United States to reach the round of 16 but they did it playing a soccer that helped them to leave behind other teams that could have been assured a place just because of their name. But well, we realized that in such a short tournament nothing is written and that is its magic, whether we like it or not.
Este fin de semana dieron inicio a los octavos de final los cuales nos llevaría a conocer a los dos primeros partidos de los cuartos de final que se llevarán a cabo los días viernes y sábado. Países Bajos - Argentina y Francia - Inglaterra son los encuentros que conocemos hasta ahora y son unos que ya se comienzan a parecer un poco a lo que queríamos ver. Cuatro selecciones que de las cuales dos se pudieran considerar favoritas y las otras dos pues un poco a la expectativa de como vayan surgiendo los partidos. Es inesperado que alguno de estos equipos hayan llegado hasta acá? - la verdad no y más si consideramos el camino que tuvieron que recorrer, uno "sencillo" hasta los momentos.
This weekend saw the beginning of the round of 16 which would lead us to the first two quarterfinal matches to be held on Friday and Saturday. Netherlands - Argentina and France - England are the matches we know so far and they are already starting to look a bit like what we wanted to see. Four teams, two of which could be considered favorites and the other two a little bit in expectation of how the matches will turn out. Is it unexpected that any of these teams have made it this far? - Not really, especially if we consider the road they had to travel, an "easy" one so far.

Hemos aterrizado en el primer combate de los cuartos de final en donde tendremos el juego de una selección que es sumamente efectiva y contundente contra la otra que le gusta tener el balón, rodarlo de un lado a otro hasta el momento de filtrarlo y hacer el gol, ya sea por un juego colectivo o por una genialidad de algunas de sus estrellas, siendo la segunda forma el común denominador de sus goles últimamente. El partido de los albicelestes contra los australianos fue uno en donde honestamente se vio a una Argentina muy superior y que manejó gran parte del partido a su antojo, digo gran parte porque eso duró 70 -75 minutos ya que en los últimos quince la presión de Australia fue tal que lograron descontar un 2-0 y en sus manos tuvieron el gol del empate. Los de Scaloni se durmieron de una forma muy sorprendente y por poco se la hacen, no quiero decir que se confiaron pero si que es verdad que se relajaron más de la cuenta.

Ahora le toca bailar con una de las más feas, los Países Bajos que han demostrado tener un juego que no es para nada vistoso pero si que es super eficaz y directo de la mano de Van Gaal quien fue el que cambió a esta selección en los últimos años ya que el nivel que venían presentando era muy lamentable.

Los Países Bajos como ya dije han demostrado ser un equipo que no necesitan de la posesión y de ahogar a sus rivales con pases y juego asociado para ganar los partidos y la muestra de eso fue su encuentro con Estados Unidos en los octavos de final. Fue un juego en donde tuvieron menos posesión, hicieron menos pases y llegaron menos que su rival y aún así su victoria fue con contundencia, un sólido 3-1 que pudiera confundir a cualquiera. Estos europeos tienen un as bajo de la manga y es su interior derecho, Denzel Dumfries que juega en el Inter, es una verdadera bala, tiene velocidad pero también tiene visión y sobre todo gol, no se si fue el MVP de ese partido pero mi se llevó todos los focos. Es de ese jugador y de la volatilidad de Depay de lo que la saga central de Argentina se deberá de cuidar y no dormirse como parece estar acostumbrada a hacer.

Me sigo quedando con el estado anímico argentino, creo que están en un nivel que salvo no ocurra una tragedia no los veo perdiendo tan fácilmente a pesar de lo visto en la ronda inicial. Claramente los Países Bajos no son Australia ni Polonia pero creo que con la cabeza e su sitio, es posible que veamos la semifinal soñada de los mundiales, mientras no ocurra una eventualidad por el lado de Brasil, claro está. Será un juegazo, de eso no tengo dudas porque son dos estilos de juego totalmente diferentes y ganará el que mejor lo plasme en la cancha el día viernes.
I still believe they are at a level that unless a tragedy does not happen, I do not see them losing so easily despite what we saw in the opening round. Francia tiene todo para repetir lo que solamente dos selecciones en el mundo han podido lograr, ganar dos mundiales de forma consecutiva y parte de ese todo tiene nombre y apellido, Kylian Mbappé. Que un jugador en dos mundiales tenga más goles que Cristiano y los mismos que Messi que tienen 5 copas del mundo en sus espaldas nos ayuda a dimensionar lo que este jugador es capaz de hacer, la cosa es que uno como lo sigue semana tras semana nos puede parecer hasta irrelevante ese logro pero la realidad es que es una barbaridad de estadística. Francia llegó al mundial con dos bajas vitales, la de Kanté y el balón de oro Benzema, muchos pensábamos que le iban a pesar esas ausencias pero la historia fue otra, en la adversidad pusieron el pecho jugadores como Rabiot y Giroud que han logrado mantener el gran nivel de esta selección.

El juego contra Polonia fue un parque de juegos para los franceses y es que como ya dije en varias oportunidades los polacos no tenían absolutamente nada que ofrecer ni con que pelear frente a un equipo como Francia. El despliegue de juego que le vimos a Mbappé fue descomunal haciendo un par de goles que desde ya estoy seguro que irán a la vitrina de este mundial, hay mucho nivel en esa selección, la copa que está haciendo Griezmann es muy buena y Giroud es más que un nueve de área, la forma en como arrastra las marcas y juega de pivote de espaldas al arco es vital para el funcionamiento del ataque de los franceses. Tiene sus cosas pero junto a Argentina, cuidado con ellos.
The game against Poland was a playground for the French and as I said on several occasions the Poles had absolutely nothing to offer or to fight against a team like France. Mbappé's display of play was huge and he scored a couple of goals that I am sure will go to the showcase of this World Cup, there is a high level in that team, Griezmann's performance is very good and Giroud is more than a nine in the box, the way he drags the marks and plays as a pivot with his back to the goal is vital for the French attack. He has his stuff but with Argentina, watch out for them.

Pendientes con Inglaterra que perfectamente pueden ser el "gallo tapado" de este mundial. Me ha gustado mucho lo que le he visto a los ingleses a pesar de que muchos la sigan considerando una selección fría y sin personalidad. En este mundial han dado grandes demostraciones, contra Irán, contra Gales y el día de ayer contra la dura Senegal. Si bien es verdad que leen esos nombres y parece que no son muy grandes lo que se le ha visto a los dirigidos por Southgate ha sido bastante bueno. Rashford, Foden, Bellingham, Kane, Saka, Sterling y Grealish son algunos de los nombres que a lo largo de esta copa del mundo han dejado huella en esta nueva generación de la selección inglesa que me atrevería a decir es de la mejor que han tenido en mucho tiempo, la calidad que tiene esta plantilla nombre por nombre es de las mejores de la copa.

Exactamente, solo hemos tenido un partido de dos potencias, España contra Alemania, de resto, no habido otro juego igual. Ahora sí se viene lo bueno.
Holanda contra Argentina, pienso que está muy parejo, la albiceleste tendrá la pelota, pero a Holanda no le preocupa eso, y tienen una zaga central de lujo. Para mí se va definir por detalles, quien haga un error, terminará perdiendo.
Inglaterra tiene quizás juntos con Brasil, la mejor plantilla del mundial, pero del otro lado está Mbappe, si este viene en fuego, Francia tiene todo para ganar, me gusta mucho este partido, aquí si veo muchos goles.

El tema con Brasil son los lesionados, Neymar regresa hoy pero habrá que ver si está al 100% y ahora sin Gabriel Jesus, se quedan sin un delantero garantía de goles. Le apuesto a Argentina pero en el segundo entre ING y FRA la verdad no tengo ni idea, cualquier cosa puede pasar.

Saludos mi estimado amigo, en realidad es así, aunque el mundial empieza desde el primer juego de las eliminatorias, ya llegar a estas instancias de 8vos y 4to es el resultado de todo ese proceso mundialista desde hace 4 años.
En esta instancia se muestra el verdadero nivel de la competición y nos muestran a su vez de que están hecho cada una de las selecciones, a veces es una lastima ver como por ejemplo Argentina y Holanda se tengan que eliminar, o Francia o Inglaterra... buena publicacion, muy nutrida! gracias por mostrarla para todos nosotros.
Sobre todo Inglaterra y Francia que son dos de las selecciones que mejor futbol están mostrando, ese hasta ahora es el partido más esperado para mi.
