The Rise of RB Leipzig - What Should We Expect From Them This Season

Still on the Bundesliga, we now turn attention to RB Leipzig, a team that has shown rapid improvement recently most especially this season where they are really up there with the likes of Bayern Munich and Dortmund. Before I proceed, I will like to say that if you haven’t seen my previous post where I talked about Dortmund and what I expect from them next season, do endeavour to check the post out. With that out of the way, let’s proceed with the focus for today…

Like I mentioned above, RB Leipzig is one of the teams who have caught the eyes of many football lovers for their quality style of play and their ferocious attacking football. Their current position in the title race isn’t novel to them as they’ve been in the title race twice in the last 4 seasons. This season so far is going pretty well for them… they knocked out Jose Mourinho Tottenham out of the champions league and are just 5 points behind Bayern Munich who are sitting in their usual first position.

One of the key reasons why RB Leipzig has attracted a lot of attention to themselves especially this season is their massive improvement in how the teams play and has made a name for themselves as one of the teams in Europe with a super dangerous attack.

Their recent rise has raised a lot of positive talking points and questions have been asked concerning what we should expect from them next season… Well for me, I see them as a fast-growing team that will soon take Europe by surprise if they, continue at this growth rate. They have a good number of quality young players who have shown the qualities and maturity capable of facing any team in Europe at the moment and that is a great sign of a team that is heading for greatness very soon.

At the moment, they are waxing strong, they’ve been tipped to make it to the semifinals in the champions league and push Bayern Munich all the way in the Bundesliga, I think currently, they are not yet ready to push aside Bayern for the Bundesliga title or claim the champions league trophy. However, next season could be different, with the way they are going, I am expecting them to have a strong season next season - whether they will clinch any trophy next season is still a probability but one thing is certain, if they continue like this and keep improving, it wouldn’t be long for them before the trophies start flying into their cabinet.
