Traffic jam not peculiar to any one country, it is a global issue

Greetings folks.

How has your weekend been? I hope great. Over here, it's been a funfilled weekend for me and my circle of friends.

Today, I want to take us on traffic jam and its universality. Like myself in the time past, most people use to think that traffic jam is a local problem. Personally, I am one of those in this school of thought.

I could remember the time I have not had any cross-national and international traveling experiences, I used to think that traffic jam was a local problem. Then each time I was going home from school and come across traffic jam, I would blame the governor of my state and all the government officials. I would say to myself this cannot be so in places like Lagos, that the reason for the traffic jam witnessed within my locality was a result of bad leadership manning the affairs of my state.

However, one thing led to another and I found myself living in Lagos. To my greatest surprise and against my expectation, I found out that Lagos traffic jam was worst than that of any other state within Nigeria federation. In fact, I slept in traffic jam on two different occasions. It was a very terrifying experience.

Finally, I travelled to Dubai and Chennai, India, and the experiences weren't any different. I then began to realise that traffic gridlock seems to be a global issue, and not problem of any one country.

The experiences of my uncles who live in England and California are a confirmation of this fact. Traffic jam is indeed a global issue, and you can hardly find a country that doesn't experience it.

Do you agree with this or not?

The fact that you thought they weren't any traffic in Lagos made me laugh. I've been living in Lagos almost all my life. The traffic here is terrible. It can frustrate the living daylight out of you.

But like you said, it's everywhere. Just that some are much more worst than others.
