To the right, paddle
And to the left, paddle
We're on the canoe of life, my son
Hey, men only come out of here dead.

To the right, paddle
And to the left, paddle
We paddle on a glassy river today
But the river revolts tomorrow, swallowing us.

To the right, paddle
And to the left, paddle
Our nets break with fishes today
But we go empty-handed tomorrow.

To the right, paddle
And to the left, paddle
The golden sun smiles at us now
Who knows if th moon will smite us at dawn?

To the right, paddle
And to the left, paddle
Death drums for everyone
In turns we all file out to dance.

Deep words.. anything can happen, life can be sweet one moment and useless the other time..

A bit dark and pessimistic. Maybe even "realistic." Whatever, it's more great writing from your ever-sharp sword-pen.
