My first fashion illustration

Hello my fellow hivers,

Today was a good day because I can finally say my fashion school knowledge and teaching is paying off. There are things that we see in life which we already assume cannot be achieved by us. There are some things we aspire to be or do which we feel is difficult from viewing perspective, well I am one of these people that can be called the doubting Thomas.

Now I fully understand what the phrase "Follow your passion means". I love fashion, be it playing dress up or combining colours but I have always believed myself to be a poor artist. I chose to learn history in school instead of Art which I regretted by the way because with dedication and time, there is nothing humans cannot learn. So I decided to pursue my passion during this locked down by investing in my fashion ability.

I took off to a fashion School to learn the intricacies of sowing, cutting and designing. Today after months of learning, I made my first digital design after learning the manual version of it.

Here is what is known as a Croquis in the fashion world, it's a skeletal draft of a fashion figure before actual design. Here is mine which was downloaded on Google image and traced out on my tablet.

Not perfect yeah!!! Cos my fingers were stressed and under prefecture stress.

Below is the next stage which is the painted version where I applied the multiply and linear dodge called add to my Croquis. This is to make it look more human with added colour boost for my next stage.

This next stage is my fashion stage where I drew the style I wanted on my Croquis. This was really tough for an amateur like me but I was able to settle for this after lots of erasing and undo.

This stage is my cloth adding stage where I am adding fabric to my drafted pattern which is a monostrap bridal dress with purple lace. I reduced the fabric opacity here so as to enable me erase the excessive fabric on the outer part of my croquis.

Finally, here is the readymade version which I can send to my prospective client on how the dress will look on her if she decides to go for this style. I am having fun with this class and love it more than sowing, maybe I will be the next Oliver Rousteing in the fashion world..... Fingers crossed till then.
