I'm watching Numbers with this kid that the mom left with me to kidsit. Numbers is the TV show that influenced my love for mathematics and numbers. The idea that I can use mathematics to calculate the probability of things happening, that I can calculate distances and time and even predict people was delicious when I first watch the series in 2009. I wanted to be a Mathematician, study Maths at the highest level. Unfortunately, I stopped and haven't been able to find it ever since. Just like with Borgias, I found it recently on Moviebox Pro. Now, I just want to be a Ninja and have the sharingan.

As we watch, this kid asks me questions and I try to be an adult that knows everything and has all the answers.

"Uncle, how did he know when the armed robbers will attack?"

"There is a pattern to everything, and patterns can be calculated. Like your Mum comes back everyday by 6pm, any day she comes by 7pm, you can calculate the time gap and factor in things that could likely have caused her to stay late for one hour. What things could keep her for one additional hour? Market, maybe a new customer, branching to see someone. Having additional data can help you predict better. The weather, the day of the week, the situation of things at home before she leaves. Knowing all this, you can predict your mother. Predict when she will be home, predict everything like some prophet. People will look at you and start to think you're a prophet."

The boys smiles, asks another question and I answer. I am now feeling myself. Professor Ubong James. Mathematics Genius. That only managed to graduate with an ordinary pass in Electrical engineering. But with kids, we get to relive our fantasies. To be great again.
