When did things go south? My countrymen are tired of this country!

It's just a hunch, but it feels like Nigerians are tired of Nigeria.

The reason for this is not far fetched and it's not hidden from anyone. You must have heard the plight and lamentation of my countrymen about the series of irregularities that are happening in the country. It's a pitiable situation and an eyesore to witness the high level of inhumanity that is going on. The situation of Nigeria is something that is known too well by people that have never dreamed of being in Africa and I'm sure that most, if not all, of what is known about the country is not far from the truth.

I do remember a whole lot of things about my childhood in this same country. That was a time when l didn't have to worry so much about anything. I was just cruising life and riding on my parent's little fortune - Lol. The games played, the tears shed, the fights experienced, the giggles, the gifts received and a whole lot of other things made my childhood very spicy. Sometimes, l just sit back and enjoy flashbacks of how l lived as a kid.

But now, the kid in me is nowhere to be found and I'm seeing this country from an angle that gives me a big scare. What could have been so different between now and then? I think everything is pretty much the same. Same poor infrastructures, same issue of bad government, same poverty issues, yet, l couldn't see all this because l was enjoying being a kid. What a world!

I don't know what we will wake up to tomorrow.

You may just hear that Nigeria has turned into a warzone or something worse. With the way things are going, l just can't stop me from imagining how anyone would be able to raise kids in a place like this. I've said it before and l will say it again, "8 out of every 10 Nigerians will mostly choose to migrate from Nigeria to a more decent country whenever they have an opportunity to do so.".

Well well well... We've heard enough about the Nigerian drama, Eh?

Make no mistake about this, the country itself is a dumb shit and l know how much we like to say that it's that way because of the people in it. But, most of these Nigerians are breaking sweat every day so that they can carve out a decent life for themselves despite coming from a place that stems as a limiting factor to their success.

In all this world, the major thing that interests me is to see a smile of the face of my countrymen.

You work hard to break out of the shackles of thou country. You smile everyday while being trampled on by every cat/lizard in power. You subdue depression desite the depressing things that happen around you. I'm no Prophet, but I'm sure that we will find our haven -one way or the other.

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop Or Comma

It is really sad that not much is being done to improve the state of the citizens. I wish that the United Nations do something about it and try to encourage the government to improve the living conditions, at least.
Voted on behalf of the Neoxian city paper.

Yeah, Nigeria is just shooting itself on the leg but they can't see it because they still get stuffs from international communities.

If UN decides to cut off the aid they send to her and if other countries decide to stand up for Nigerians, l believe that it will force the hands of our government to a great extent.

Thanks to you and to Neoxian city ✌️

Trust me, the world is going gaga

What do you expect in a country where many individuals sell their electoral vote just for a meagre sum

It's a pity.
Can you believe that some people are already planning to sell their votes again?

It's a pity but no matter how much we complain or try to change things, some hoodlums will always repeat the same cycle

@kenechukwu97 i guess such people are used to mediocrity and suffering, because i see no reasons why they should still keep selling their votes.

It's just that they choose to live their life as if there is no tomorrow. They don't have vision and they don't think in a futuristic way.

Now, even if they are paid a million, do you think they would invest it for the sake of the future?

They will just lavish it in a few months and go back to selling their votes again

I guess, that is the only alternative people are seeing because not everyone has the stomach to stand against what is going on especially when it is crystal clear that the fight will be one against millions.

It's not a hunch, it's the truth. Nigerians are tired of Nigeria or should I say UAR 🤦‍♀️ seriously, where are we heading?

Thinking about the problems this country is facing can be really heart breaking and the annoying thing is that nothing is being done about it.

Instead, corruption grow every day to I cress the problem we're already facing.
God help Nigeria 😭

It's true that we are passing through a lot in this country but the most of bearable part is that the more we try to escape from the grasp of corruption, the more problematic things becomes.

A lot of Nigerians are already tired of the country itself

It pains me that the government are not doing anything about it, instead sending threats of starting a civil war and banning Twitter. To be honest i left house for week now because of this daily gunshots here in the Eastern region of Nigeria(Owerri). Things are just getting bad. This present administration are just making things worse with their unreasonable laws.

May God see us through this administration 🙏🙏

I'm very happy that you are no longer in that danger zone although, I'm very sure that no part in Nigeria is completely safe for anyone.

We will always survive and come out victorious
