[A Picture Speaks A Thousand Word] ~ The Lost One

Blair stood at the kitchen counter for more than 30mins fixed in space.
All the memories of her past life came playing back as she saw the fish her mom wanted to use and prepare the family meal that evening.

How would her life have been before now? The moment she left the sea, she knew a new life awaits her but one thing she wasn't sure of is how she would cope.
She did adapt well, for the first time since she left her first home is this kind of thoughts running through her mind.
How are my other family in the sea? How are my dad and my siblings faring?

She was brought back from the sound her mom's footsteps made. She was approaching the kitchen and she would wanna prepare a meal for the family so Blair had better hurry and get things in place.
She rushed and picked up the fish and placed it in a bowl, washed it, and desert it. She seasoned and steamed the fish for the rice preparation.

Blair! Her mom called out to her. Yes, mom!
Get me those oranges from the fridge let me peel for your aunty Kate.
Alright mom, in a second. Blair went to the fridge to get the fresh oranges and returned to her mom. The moment she handed the fruit to her mom in a stray, she left the sitting room and came back to the kitchen to continue with what she was during earlier before her mom sent her on the errand.

Blair is a young girl in her early sixteen. She is the only child of her parents. She was adopted when she was just 10years old.
Her parents didn't have a child and so they decided to go adopt a child.
At the time they went to adopt, they found Blair. There was something very special and unique about Blair.
The fact that she wasn't like every ordinary girl made her parents chose her.
She was brought back home, cared for, and nurture in love.

Blair has been a good girl from birth, she is humble and always helping. She is loved by not just her parents but every other person in the community.
Blair was very young at the time she was adopted but she wasn't naive about everything that was happening. She was smart and she knew exactly where she came from.
She is from the sea, that's where her real family resides.

Blair is a mermaid. She is half mermaid and half-human. Such that when she is on land she becomes human and when she is in the water she turns into a mermaid.
She wandered off once when she came out of the sea as a small child so when people saw her, they thought she was lost in the sea, so they took her back to find her parents and her whereabouts, where she comes from.
But since they couldn't contact her parents, they took her to the orphanage to be taken care of.
That was where she stayed until her new family came and adopted her.

Blair loves her new family but she misses her real family. She is always hoping that one day she could return to her real family at the sea.
The little fish in her mom's kitchen just reminded her of her lost home.
She keeps praying that one day she gets to see her real family again.
