Alphabet Hunt Challenge ~ Letter J

avatar

This is my entry in the Alphabet Hunt Challenge by @barbara-orenya. You can read more about the Alphabet Hunt and how to join in HERE! I don't know if I'm making the deadline to have this in and I'm submitting my post knowing that I may have missed the cut off for the drawing and that is okay with me as I didn't think I would make posting it at all. I'm also gonna apologize now if I don't get back to replying to comments right away. My descriptions are short too...sorry. I've had increasing pain in my chest from the accident that I was in but really didn't want to miss posting for the Alphabet Hunt!

Here are my six (or so) photos representing the letter J ...

1 Jesus
This is a Jesus sculpture at the cemetery that my parents are interred at. There are several sculptures throughout the cemetery but this is the one that I see the most as it is seen just inside the entrance. I, personally, believe in God and Jesus but have respect for most other religions and beliefs or non-beliefs. I do also believe that the Hand of God has definitely saved my life a few times throughout my life.

2 Jerusalem Mill
Jerusalem Mill is located in both Baltimore County and Harford County, Maryland. It is also the location of the Jerusalem Mill Village which is a living history museum. The village is located on the Harford County side.

3 Jericho Covered Bridge
Not far from Jerusalem Mill you will find the Jericho Covered Bridge. The bridge is a Burr arch through truss wooden bridge. It is named Burr truss after its inventor Theodore Burr.

4 Juvenile Starling
I saw this bird in my yard a couple of times and wondered what kind it could be. I was surprised to learn that this is a juvenile starling. It looks very different from an adult starling.

5 Japanese Beetle
Unfortunately, I know exactly what kind of beetle this was that I found munching down on the Hibiscus leaves. The dreaded Japanese Beetle. I knew that they loved roses and I guess you can add Hibiscus leaves in there as well!

6 Japanese Maple Tree
Here is the little Japanese Maple tree that resides in my front yard. I've included two closer shots of the leaves. One with sunlight shining on the leaves and the other without sunlight.

That was one more successful AlphabetHunt, @deerjay 😄

They thought of the Joker and of Jack, but I don't think anyone else has thought of Jesus 👍

All very nice shots, don't see many covered bridges anymore, especially here in Texas . I guess they were meant to keep the snow and ice off of them? I can only think of one here and it isn't but maybe 50 years old and is part of the entry to subdivision named River Plantation.

Thanks so much @sultnpapper!! This is the only one that I can think of here. I would think they were meant for the same reason. 🙂
