Alphabet Hunt Challenge ~ Letter L

avatar

This is my entry in the Alphabet Hunt Challenge by @barbara-orenya. You can read more about the Alphabet Hunt and how to join in HERE!

Here are my six (or so) photos representing the letter L ...

1. Loch Raven Reservoir
Loch Raven Reservoir is located in Baltimore County, Maryland and, lucky for me, it is less than five miles from where I live. The reservoir provides drinking water for Baltimore City and most of Baltimore County.

2. Loblolly Pine Trees
I took this photo of the Loblolly Pine tree while I was visiting Assateague Island in Maryland. The tree loses its lower branches with age and leaves an open rounded crown.

3. Logs
I've been by "The Mill" in Fallston, Maryland many times but always from the view of the major road that it comes out to. When we had to take the actual road that it is on, I got a much better view of The Mill and the logs that were right along the road. Go figure...we had to take the actual road it is on due to a downed tree!

4. Lavender
Some lavender that I had in my front garden a couple of years ago. I wish I could remember what variety it was. I've gotten other ones since but these were my favorite.

5. Lost and Found
There is a very small space between our property and a business next door. That space is between two fences and my daughter noticed this lost little dog in between them. We were able to get the pooch out and it was a sweet little dog. We took it to the Pet ER to see if the little dog was micro-chipped and it was so we were able to locate the owner and return him or her. This little dog had to cross several streets and a major road to get here so I was glad it didn't get hurt and my daughter found it. She would have loved to keep it too but she would've only considered that if we could not locate the owner.

6. Lantern
I got this old lantern at an auction quite a few years ago. It has a pretty crackle glass globe and holds a tea light. I couldn't help myself and did an edit on it. 😉

In this collage you can see how the lantern looks un-edited on the left along with with two other edits that I did on the right. I thought about refinishing it but I love the rustic look of it the way I got it in. 😁

That's brings us to the end of another edition of #alphabethunt! 🙂
Thank you @barbara-orenya for #alphabethunt!!

Beautiful L finds, @deerjay.

I have never heard of a Loblolly Pine Tree, but that doesn't mean anything 😉

Nice story about this lost dog. It was lucky that your daughter found it there before a car could hit it, and that it was chipped.

Thank you very much @johannpiber!! I had heard of them from a cousin who lives in that area. They are an interesting looking tree and seem to love the marshy areas around the island. 🙂
I'm glad she noticed the little dog in there and wonder how long it had been there. It was a sweet dog and I'm happy it didn't get hurt and we were able to locate the owner. 💖

Good morning and you are most welcome, @deerjay 😊
I think it was good that the dog was obviously too scared to run across the streets again and stayed there where your daughter luckily found it 😁

It sure was a cute and nice little dog! I was surprised that it did wind up where it did and both happy that it wasn't hurt and we were able to get him or her back to its owners. 💕

I remember watching a movie years ago that had one of the stars from The Dukes of Hazzard in it. And he was a young man wanting to build a house in the middle of New York City and he was trying to find Mississippi loblolly pine because he felt that was the only building material worth working with. . I think of that movie every single time I see the word Loblolly.

That sounds like a movie that I would enjoy seeing. You sure don't hear that word very often..lol.
