Alphabet Hunt Challenge ~ Letter Q
This is my entry in the Alphabet Hunt Challenge by @barbara-orenya. You can read more about the Alphabet Hunt and how to join in HERE!
Here are my six (or so) photos representing the letter Q ...
1. Queen Anne's Lace
My first entry is a collage of the plant Queen Anne's Lace which you may also know as wild carrot. I took three of the photos in my yard and the other two at Little Gunpowder Falls State Park in Baltimore County, Maryland. Queen Anne's Lace can grow as high as four feet. I think it does have a pretty flower but it is even more beautiful if you are able to view it from the underside of the flower.
2. Quiet Time
I made a post recently titled "Quiet Time" and this is one of the photos that I didn't include in that post. It is a baby gunny that my daughter brought in to me for a visit as I was laying down. I guess the baby bunny decided to join me with some quiet time and a nap. I do have to say that I made a mistake in that post and mislabeled the breed of this little sleepy bunny. I mentioned that it is an American Chinchilla when in fact it is a Flemish Giant baby. What can I say ... they are so close in color and I was half asleep at the time! 😉
3. Quarter
Below is a quarter but not just any quarter, it's a Bicentennial quarter. They were issued to commemorate the 200th birthday of America! Coming across one of these is getting harder so I decided to hold onto a couple of them just for sentimental reasons mostly. Can you guess how much this quarter is worth now?! A whopping twenty-five cents ... lol. Unless you are lucky enough to find one with a "S" mintmark then they are worth slightly more at up to fifty cents. I still like the design though and will hold onto the couple that I have for now.
4. Quinoa
I happened to have some quinoa in my pantry. I don't have it for any special diet or anything like that but I do like to have some now and then.
I usually add some taco seasoning after it's finished cooking.
It is a great meat-less alternative and, for me, just something a little different. The edible seeds are a good source of protein, iron and dietary fiber. One thing I like to use my taco seasoned quinoa in is ....
5. Quesadillas
The taco seasoned quinoa works great in a quesadilla and is how I normally eat it. It is simple, easy and taste great. It is also relatively inexpensive as well. The way I make mine is I put a little butter on a flour tortilla and place it butter side down in a hot skillet. I then add some cheddar cheese, the seasoned quinoa, a little more cheddar cheese and some hot sauce or salsa. I like my quesadillas a little browned but you can finish 'em up however you like. I also make quesadillas with chicken, beef and veggies as well. Yum! 😋
6. Quinine
I know what you may be thinking right now! Why is @deerjay showing a bottle of tonic water for this thing known as quinine? Well, tonic water contains quinine and you may have been hearing more about quinine lately with Covid and it possibly helping to combat Covid. Quinine was originally developed to medicinally fight malaria. The amount of quinine in tonic water is small but it is cheap and in my book it can't hurt so I keep a couple of bottles on hand. Tonic water does have a bitter flavor and if you like grapefruit then you will probably like tonic water. Of course you could also mix it with a little gin if you wanted to! 😉
So there you have it and that brings us to the end of this week's edition of #alphabethunt! 🙂
Thank you @barbara-orenya for #alphabethunt!!

Thank you so much @ninahaskin!! 🤗 💕
Thank you very much @pixresteemer!! 😊
Quick of the mark and you nailed it well great finds with this difficult letter my favorite is the Queen Anne's Lace such a pretty flower tree 👍
Thank you so much @kohsamui99!! It is even prettier to view it from underneath. I happened to see it like that once when going down some stairs at the park and looked up to view it from the underside and fell in love with it even more. 💖
I noticed it looks like a beautiful ferris wheel on it's side all lit up 🙂
Oh my sweetness ! this bunny is the incarnation of quietness indeed ! 😍
the Queen Anne's lace is a so clever way to use the word Queen in an even more original way ...well done !
I thought my american friends could have a quarter to be shot and shown in this hunt ...😉
Quinine, quesadillas and quinoa, well...I confess I didn't even thought of them ! ...very nicely surprised to meet them in your post, bravo @deerjay ! 👍
Thank you very much @barbara-orenya!! When my daughter saw that I made the mistake on what breed the bunny was she wanted me to fix it but the post had gone past seven days so this worked out perfectly as a word for Q and to make the correction..lol. 😉
Queen Anne's Lace was the first word that I thought of for the letter Q and maybe because I had so many in my yard. 😁 💕
Cool Q words, @deerjay, you have had a quick but very successful hunt this week.
The Queen Anne's Lace looks beautiful, but no flower can be better than the image below ... "Qiet time" is great and I couldn't stop looking at the image for a while. We had Flemish Giants at home when I was a kid, and I still can remember how big they can grow. This baby looks soooo cute though 🤗
Thanks for sharing your great selection of Q words, @deerjay, I wish you a wonderful weekend ☀️

Awe..thanks so much @johannpiber!! I love that you are familiar with the Flemish Giants! This one looked especially cute while quietly napping. They can get quite large but are normally gentle Giants. I will have to let my daughter know that you had them growing up. Wishing you a most beautiful weekend! 🙂 💕
You're most welcome @deerjay 😊
I have to admit that although we children played with the rabbits as pets my father had them for their meat. But we have had other rabbits too and hamsters and guinea pigs which had a very good life with us 😁

Oh, I totally understand as my daughter is involved in that process with certain ones of them as well. When I was growing up we had so many different pets including a monkey for a short time. I am not a big fan of monkeys and never got too close to it but I did very much love my guinea pigs! 😊 💖
A monkey? I'd love to have a monkey, but I am sure you know better. I know them only from the zoo and from TV, so my opinion of having one might be a bit naive 😉
I also loved the guinea pigs, we had much fun with these little ones 😀

Oh my god, this bunny is soooo sweet, 😀❤
You got really cool finds and for some I did not thought about, like quinoa. Obviously queen will be most used but yours is so original with this beautiful flower.
Thank you very much Neli!! I know right! I thought about making that one my first photo but I thought my "Quiet Time" post was too recent to do that so the Queen Anne's Lace won out..lol. I'm looking forward to seeing your Q's. I think we will all need to really "think outside the box" for X! 🤨 😁
Loved your hunt, many new things learned and I have kept a screenshot of Quinoa and Quinine. I'll see if I can find those here too :D
Sweet hunt for that sweet bunny @deerjay
Thanks so much @razeiv!! Both are found in most stores around here. That bunny has such a sweet disposition too and loves attention. Hope to see you join the ""Hunt"! 💖
I'm on it :D
I see you had no problem with finding Q words Dee. Queen Anne’s lace and quiet time are great ones. 🐰💞
Reading about the quesadillas made my mouth water for one. I haven’t tried Quinoa but will have to buy some now.😃
Have a wonderful weekend!
Thanks Jo!! The Queen Anne's Lace was my first and easiest find but I did have a lot of reminders in my yard..lol. Wishing you a wonderful weekend as well! 🙂 💕

Great Q words and wonderful photos! Your choice for Quiet time couldn't be more perfect! I am not a fan of Quinoa, something about the texture bothers me, but sure do love quesadillas! And good to know that I can claim a gin and tonic as health food! 😂. !tip
Thanks so much Melinda!! That little bunny looked so peaceful as it lay there sleeping. I've only tried the quinoa with taco seasoning and in quesadillas and it is pretty good like that. One must stay healthy..lol! 😉 💖

OMG!That bunny is a draw for me! How sweet!!! That is a framable little shot! I love it. I love the alphabethunt and I need to try to do one before it is over. I think @barbara-orenya has the coolest ideas. Too bad I am only getting the time to post once, possibly twice in one week. I feel so cheated by this!
How is it that we should have more time and yet, I cannot keep up with anything?
Tonic Water used to be my drink of choice when I didn't drink alcohol. I still like the refreshing taste of it. Quesadillas!! Who can just eat one?
I have so many bicentennials, but, not willing to get rid of them! I love them!
Thanks for letting me stroll through and drop a hello to you. It has been so bad... I never get around anymore. I have become a recluse! I hope all is well in your world and you are feeling good. Have a Happy Labor Day!
!tip
Thank you very much Denise!! It is a sweet little bunny and they fall asleep so easily when they are cradled. 😊
Time is a strange thing often times but I think you do a great job of keeping up and, omg, I don't know how you do it..lol.
I like Tonic Water also but it must be really cold. I can't drink alcohol much anymore but the key word there is "much"! 😁
I can totally relate to the recluse part. I hope that things start to get back to a little more normal soon. Hope you have a wonderful holiday as well! 💕
