XYZ and that was it | #AlphabetHunt for the letters X, Y and Z

avatar

Three letters in one hunt, that seemed to be easy โ€ฆ that's what I thought ๐Ÿ˜‰

One more week has gone by and the lovely and great artist Barbara @Barbara-Orenya has rang the bell for the next and last round of the #AlphabetHunt Challenge in the Feel Good Community, where you have to illustrate 6 words (or concepts) starting with the letter of the week.

Hive AlphabetHunt - Letter X, Y and Z

This week we are hunting the Letters "Y, Y and Z" all together. Please visit the latest blog post of Barbara | @barbara-orenya to find out more about the rules of this fun contest: The very last AlphabetHunt letters X,Y and Z- and the winners of the W lucky draw !

X-ray

We all know X-ray machines and the strange looking images of our bones which it produces.
These two images are the result of a X-ray session a couple of years ago when I had spine problems in my neck and my finger joints have also hurt. If you look closer you might notice that some of the first finger joints are not correctly connected (right photo). I have Arthritis which is slowly bending some of my fingers.

Of course, these two images were not taken by me, but it is my own left hand and the Photoshop "artwork" is by me, so I hope it is a valid entry ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hive AlphabetHunt X-ray
Hive AlphabetHunt X-ray

An X-ray machine takes pictures of the bones inside the body. X-rays are electromagnetic waves which go through the body. Bones are shown bright on the X-ray and the muscles in between are dark.

X-clouds

I have taken this photo quite some years ago - seen the contrails of two airplanes crossing and thought I might need the photo one day in an #AlphabetHunt ๐Ÿ˜‰
Because these are not real clouds I might have had to title the photo X-trails, but X-clouds sounds better to me ;)

Yellow Flower

That's funny, because in this post I can use the flower of which I couldn't find the real name and call it Yellow Flower ๐Ÿ˜

Hive AlphabetHunt Yellow Flower

I have taken these photos in my parents garden and forgot to ask my mother which flower it is.

Yolk

Simply said, the Yolk is the yellow part inside an egg. The more transparent fluid part is called the white of the egg. It becomes white when you cook it while the Yolk stays yellow.

Hive AlphabetHunt Yolk

This is a very old photo that I have taken with the Olympus DSLR which I had years ago when I started photography. I have edited it in Photoshop so that it looks a bit better than before.

Yacht

Well, these images are even older than the Yolk. Friends of us had a beautiful old wooden Sailing Yacht in Lignano, Italy. We have spent a couple of holidays there and during walks I have taken photos of other Yachts.

Young

There is also the word Youth, which is the time when someone is young, meaning the age between being a child and adulthood.

This tree is definitely young and it is growing from the bark of an old and mossy tree. I have taken this photo somewhere in the forest behind my parents house.

Zlatorog

A while ago I have posted a photo and one of the stories about the Zlatorog or Goldhorn and searching through my Archives for Z words I have seen this chamois statue at the lake Bohinj in Slovenia and knew I have one more Z :)

Zlan

There's a nice and curvy mountain road I ride or drive sometimes. It passes a waterfall which I have posted a few times, but right at the beginning of that road there's a village called Zlan. So, this time I didn't drive to a village just for the photo of it's name sign, I drove on that road and when I saw the sign I thought that soon I'll have to hunt the letter Z ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hive AlphabetHunt Zlan

12 days later when I drove on that rode again it had snowed over night and I could take this image of autumnal colored trees in front of snowy pine trees reflecting in a puddle on a farm field.

Zadnjica Valley

I have posted quite a lot photos of the Zadnjica Valley in Slovenia last year. These are a few more photos which haven't been online yet.

Hive AlphabetHunt Zadnjica Valley, Slovenia

The Trenta Valley splits into the Zadnjica Valley and into the Soฤa Valley, of which I have told you many times too. The photo above shows the junction to the Zadnjica Valley.

I think that was it for this week's hunt and also for this #AlphabetHunt challenge. There have been hard letters and there have been easy letters to hunt, but I think if Barbara | @Barbara-Orenya had not loosened the rules for the letters X, Y and Z not only I would have struggled at least with the X ๐Ÿ˜‰

I am so glad that I have joined this challenge, because it was great fun and I hope there will be a similar challenge in future.

Hive Alphabet Hunt

I don't add information about the photos when I post for the #AlphabetHunt, because it's all about the words, but most photos were shot with the Canon EOS R and one of these lenses: Canon RF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM, Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS II USM, Canon EF 16-35mm 1:4 L IS USM, Canon EF 50mm 1:1.8 L STM, SIGMA 105mm 1:2,8 DG MACRO HSM, SIGMA 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM C.
Some of the older photos were also taken with one of the Olympus DSLR's I have had years ago.

I leave all EXIF and IPTC information stored in the pictures.

If you like my photos I would appreciate an upvote, nice comment or maybe you want to share my post on your blog ๐Ÿ˜Š ... and maybe you would like to follow me, so that you never miss a post from me.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog,
have a nice evening,

Your X rays are very original ๐Ÿ˜‰ very nice work in photoshop in addition...is it me or you have quite long fingers..?๐Ÿ˜
You made me laugh with this cute little flower that you found it a place in the hunt, failing to find it a name ๐Ÿ˜„
i think you would have probably made great with all the difficult letters as you have a lot of villages with weird name in your surrounding ๐Ÿ˜‰

You were such a great participant to this #alphabethunt my dear friend ! all your posts were a delight for me ๐Ÿ˜‰

It's funny how each person had its own distinctable way to do the game, it was very interesting to see the different persons throught their post and the way they drove the hunt....๐Ÿ˜Š

Thank you Barbara, X-rays don't look that good, so I thought I could do something with the images that they are a bit more pleasing for the eyes ๐Ÿ˜‰

Oh, we don't have many villages with these names - well, there are a few Z's, but I have found only one Y (Ybbs) quite far away and one X which is actually not that far away, but I thought one name sign would be enough ๐Ÿ˜

The #AlphabetHunt has made a lot of fun and I have tried to give my best to post not so very ordinary things which has worked a few times ๐Ÿ˜€

Thank you so much for giving me and us all the opportunity to participate in such a great challenge which has been so much fun, dear Barbara ๐Ÿค—

We are at the end of the hunt and you made a grand finish. Hannes. We had two the same, yellow and young.

Your yellow flower is beautiful . Great looking statue of the Zlatorog or Goldhorn and the views in the Zadnjica Valley.

I thought of x-ray but didnโ€™t have a photo. Amazing one of your arthritic fingers. I hope itโ€™s not painful.

All great choices dear Hannes. I enjoyed them all.

Good morning Jo,

it's raining here, but the sun should come in the afternoon and we will have a nice weekend, says the weather lady, but she was wrong this morning when she said it is dry while it was raining - I'm about 1 kilometer away from the radio station ๐Ÿคฃ lol

Thank you kindly for your nice words, dear Jo, this was the last hunt for a while I believe, but I am sure there will be another challenge soon.

Wish you a wonderful weekend ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ”†

Great finish of your hunt with amazing photos!
That one with the autumn colours and the snow is outstanding.
We still enjoy rather warm weather, cold at night, but very pleasant during the day.

It really doesn't matter how the flower is called, it looks wonderful and comes so handy. Reminds me of sunflower.

Because the Slav countries got many common words, zlatorog is a word we also use in Bulgaria. There was a magazine called Zlatorog, published in the beginning of the 20th century in my country.

Our weather is about the same as yours, but today it is raining. It isn't cold though.

Oh yes, I think it is a kind of a smaller sunflower which my mother also has in the garden ๐Ÿ˜

Does Zlatorog have the same meaning "Golden Horn" in Bulgarian too?

Thank you very much for your kind compliments, dear Neli, I really appreciate it a lot and wish you a wonderful weekend ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ”†

Bravo. Great last hunt and you did not disappoint. I would like to say you reserved the best for last but that would not be true as there were too many best posts from you earlier. I wanted to use Xray because my sister is a dentist and she has a lot of those images of xrayed teeth. That would have been cool but unfortunately I was not able to visit her. But your photos are very good. I wonder what my fingers would look like because I have much worse arthritis. On almost all my fingers now :(

Most of your words will be unique. The "Z" series especially which showed such grand photos of nature.

Yacht will be a bit common but I think your pictures will not be. And the X clouds and of course, the Yolk. Why did I not think of that? I eat eggs everyday lol.

Congratulations for a very successful hunt. Too bad this is the last but we do have all those memories of the good times captured in so many beautiful pictures. I know I will always relive them from time to time. They are worth a few reruns as far as I am concerned. Hope to see you in another Challenge. Gute geschwindigkeit!

I hate dentists, but not your sister, of course ๐Ÿ˜‰

At the moment only the index and middle fingers on both hands are effected, the ones on the right hand more, but it doesn't hurt very much anymore. A few months back it was quite painful most times. I believe you know what I mean, and hopefully it doesn't get worse. Hope your arthritis will get better too, but when I think of my mother I have no big hope for me, because her fingers are extremely bad.

I will miss this weekly challenge because of so many cool and interesting views into the countries and lifes of so many people, but I am sure there will be another challenge where we will meet.

Thank you so much for your very kind words, my friend, I wish you a wonderful weekend ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ˜Š

I hate dentists, period. I'm just so fortunate that my sister is one and she puts up with me whenever I have my teeth checked he he.

Arthritis is a degenerative condition, I am afraid. It will only get worse through time. I was advised that I can only slow down or delay the inevitable by avoiding foods and other stuffs that worsen the condition. I already have it on 5 of my fingers. And counting. I found out, however, that massaging the affected areas, although very painful at the start, can ease the pain eventually and delay it from getting worse. You might find this a crazy idea but it does work for me.

Yes, hopefully a new challenge as exciting and educational as this will come along. That would be really great. Meanwhile, stay safe and don't drive that Harley too fast in the snow.

I would never let my own sister work in my mouth ๐Ÿคฃ lol

I am often doing such massages and I move my finger joints and stretch them as often as I can. As said in my other comment, the don't hurt at the moment and like you, I do hope I can slow down the progress till I'm about 100. Then my grand grandkids can feed me and press the shutter button of my camera ๐Ÿ˜‰

My Harley stays in a warm garage over the winter ;)
I wish you also all the best till we will meet again in a hunt or in a comment ๐Ÿค—

I'm very sorry about your hands, it's the things of the years that catch us.
But the X-rays have delighted me and by this time I am perfectly home.
I see many X's in the sky of my city but that one is very good
The flower I do not know the name either but it is very beautiful
Well, I like them all
The egg is very good what happens that I fried it
I hope we have another hunt soon

Just not in winter and maybe I must get you to sneeze in Spring, as then you can go out for rides every day on the bike๐Ÿคฃ
Yes there will be a mountain of work waiting when you get back to work, but I still think that it would be worth it.
If you lived here you could buy a false medical certificate from a doctor and he can even book you into isolation for a month๐Ÿคฃ

As long as you don't tell them that you read a comment from a stupid colleague I will be okay with that ๐Ÿคฃ

Cheers and thanks!

Good day Zac,

if someone would do my work while I am away it would be okay, but most would stay untouched, so I prefer to go to work every day. We are close to another lockdown anyway.

It seems you can buy anything in your country, it just depends on the money you want or can spend ;)

Good evening Hannes,

You are by now asleep my friend. We had unexpected visitors from up north and that's why I can only respond now.

You are of course correct and it is always best to place your work first.
But of course you know that ๐Ÿคฃ
Bad news about the pending new lockdown and we were just assured by the government that another lockdown is not in their plans, as it will bankrupt the country methinks.

Yes, birth certificates, ID Books, Passports, University degrees, Drivers licenses, anything my friend is for sale.

Cheers and thanks!

Good morning Zac,

I get error messages all the time, so I hope my replies will reach you.

Our government has also said there will be no next lockdown, but I think we are really close to it.
We will see, how it all goes on, but first we all will hopefully have a nice weekend. I began at 4:30 to work today and hope I can leave earlier. I have some things to do at home and in the evening I want to hunt the full moon, if there are no clouds ;)

Good evening Hannes,

Yeah, the nessages are a bit scrambled lately.
I am also thinking that there is a lot of bluster going around with this covid thing.
I was a bit angry with one of my friends today, because his son (a pilot) first picked up the covid, then he did and then his daughter also had it.
Oh, he said that he didn't want to worry me and that's why he didn't tell me. So I called him a Klutz! But he won't know what it means, as he is Portuguese lol.
Any case he said that they all got over it in 1 week and that they are now clear.

4:30 is a good time to get up and I hope that you got everything done and that you got your moon shots my friend.

Cheers and thanks!

Good morning Zac,

it seems there's only one thing that matters around the word these days: COVID. I'm bored of it just as everybody is. We are going into our second lockdown which might even be more restrictive than the first one - the government will tell us their plans in the afternoon.

It was cloudy yesterday and I couldn't see the moon at all, but this morning the sky was quite clear and I have got some shots.

grafik.png

I'll have to work on this photo because the stars moved during the long exposure.
grafik.png

This morning was only a scouting tour to find out where I want to be tomorrow morning - it will not be this place ;)

PS: I forgot to shoot the Mars ๐Ÿคฃ

Good evening Hannes,

So sad to hear that you guys will be going into lockdown again. It really damages the economies worldwide.
That is one magnificent photo that you got there my friend!
High cloud screens here that make the full moon edges swim, so I could only get a few mountain shots, but nothing as fancy as yours.

490.jpg

Looking forward to your other shots and I think that Mars is away on leave lol.

Cheers and thanks!

Good evening Zac,

I'm having problems with replying today and hope it works now.

From Tuesday on we have a complete lockdown for four weeks. I hope it helps, but I don't think so.

I didn't hear my alarm clock this morning and had to change plans, but tomorrow morning I will try to get the shot I want.

Good evening Hannes,
It seems to work off and on but as you see, I have received this one.

Wow, that lockdown sounds hectic to me, 1 month and I suppose that they can extend.

Oh? So now you are also wearing earplugs?
You are not supposed to sleep with them in, as then what's the use of an alarm clock?

I really hope that you get your shot my friend!

Cheers and thanks!

Good morning Zac,

haha, no earplugs ๐Ÿ˜œ I must have heard it and turned it off and fell asleep again.
I don't use the snooze feature because I usually get up at once. Most times I wake up even a few minutes before like today.

Now I am sitting at the tree which I want to photograph and wait for the moon to get lower. But I don't think the image will become good, because the moon is too small. Maybe when we have the next super moon it will be better โ˜บ๏ธ

Right, 4 weeks and I am pretty sure that they will have to extend that.

Wish you a nice Monday my friend.

I will reply to the other comments when I am back home.

Good evening Hannes,

We spent the whole day without internet here. It cut out at around 10am this morning and that was it. I came back on at about 4:30 in the afternoon, but then our modem did not work and we had to sush off to the internet shop, but they couldn't help and told me to re-install the modem. So, now we are back up again lol.

Just teasing you about the earplugs as you are still too young for them ๐Ÿคฃ

I hope that you did at least get something over there at that tree?

So, your 4 weeks starts tomorrow?
Luckily you and your wife are used to being together, as many guys cry when they have to spend lockdown with their wives in the same house every day ๐Ÿคฃ

Cheers and thanks!

Good evening Zac,

it's always a strange thing when the Internet doesn't work - luckily that happens only once or twice a year and lasts a few minutes only.

I got some shots, but not the one I was hoping for ;)

You still can go out whenever you need to, but yes, you are right, my wife and I am used of being together 24 hours a day, just as you and your wife :)

Good evening Hannes,

When our internet goes, it really goes.
Where it goes I don't know but it takes a long time to sort things out.

I will have some exciting news soon, as we had a very important meeting today with the CEO of a large NGO school for children that cannot pay school fees.

Yeah, that one special shot goes to the same place where our internet goes ๐Ÿคฃ

I heard today that the people in the UK are very angry about the latest lockdown and that many European countries are also not happy.
But you know what I will say lol.

Cheers and thanks!

Good evening Hannes,

Well, no internet helps me to take more photos lol.

It seems that the whole world is angry nowadays my friend. This has never happened in history and the Bible says, "in those days you will see things that you have never seen before"

Can you believe that with all of our great "wisdom" and technology, that we still cannot find the root source of this covid virus?
Seems that we are not as clever as we think that we are my friend.

Cheers and thanks!

Yes, many are coining it during the lockdowns, but strangely, we see many vacant shopping premises in the town here. The shopping premises owners are certainly not having a good time.
Many are going down the tubes here and some are turning to crime to survive.
Yesterday 4 army guys raced off when they were signalled to stop their military truck and the cops chased them down. They had 50 kilograms of "Happy" tobacco in the truck.

Cheers and thanks!

Right, especially the small businesses have a hard time here too.

Drugs in a military truck? I think they don't wear a uniform anymore, if they were in our army they certainly wouldn't.

Yes you are right, as we have small businesses closing down every day.

They will certainly get a DD (Dishonorbly Discharged) my friend plus a jail sentence.
Stupid to become iinvolved with the drug syndicates.
But I don't know the full story, as maybe they just wanted to make some money on a sideline.
Still very stupid.

Of course there are other topics to post - I'll find something, I'm sure ๐Ÿ˜‰

The Austrian national holiday has been celebrated annually since 1965 on October 26th, the day on which the Austrian Parliament declared the country permanently neutral. It was enacted on 26 October 1955 as part of the Austrian Constitution: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Declaration_of_Neutrality

I hope your election will have a sunny result too :)
