I DID DO THE LETTER "D" : #AlphabetHunt letter D by @barbara-orenya - Bilingual

I discovered this contest from a member of The Terminal who knows I like to enter contests. Well, after reading the details, which are not complicate, I decided to enter.

This exercise was fun trying to locate items around the house. I wanted to start off on small tasks first before trying to dig through all my photos in various places. It was sort of like a treasure hunt.

Below are the six (6) items I found that start with the letter "D", and why I decided to enter them in this contest:

Este ejercicio fue divertido al tratar de ubicar artículos alrededor de la casa. Primero quería comenzar con pequeñas tareas antes de intentar examinar todas mis fotos en varios lugares. Fue algo así como una búsqueda del tesoro.

DOOR

Door to the house and to the new Hive world. Sometimes when I look at it, I can image all sorts of things. Several years ago, we remodeled our home. One of the items I wanted was a new door for the front entry. I was thoroughly surprised when the contractor / decorator installed it. I left it entirely up to him. He didn't disappoint.

Puerta a la casa y al nuevo mundo de Hive. A veces, cuando lo miro, puedo imaginarme todo tipo de cosas. Hace varios años, remodelamos nuestra casa. Uno de los artículos que quería era una nueva puerta para la entrada principal. Me sorprendió mucho cuando el contratista / decorador lo instaló. Lo dejé enteramente a él. No decepcionó.

DESK

The one item you definitely need in a home office. I'm on a mission these past several months to unclutter. Still working on it. The piles go up and down on any given month. May is looking promising as a start in the right direction.

DAY PLANNER

Life for me on a daily basis can't move forward without a plan. My sanity depends upon it. And my Day Planner helps keep me focused. Yes, sometimes I veer off the path I laid out for myself. I must admit my memory isn't what it used to be. I'm not the type of person who has a mobile phone glued to my hand or hip to beep me when I need to be reminded of a task. I just walk by and take a look. It works for me.

La vida diaria para mí no puede avanzar sin un plan. Mi cordura depende de ello. Y mi Day Planner me ayuda a mantenerme enfocado. Sí, a veces me desvío del camino que me tracé. Debo admitir que mi memoria no es lo que solía ser. No soy el tipo de persona que tiene un teléfono móvil pegado a mi mano o cadera para emitir un pitido cuando necesito que me recuerden una tarea. Solo paso y miro. Esto funciona para mi.

DONATION - FOOD BANK

Donation cards, letters, envelopes, and updates information on the different charities swell my mailbox each week. Once I started donating to a charitable organization many years ago, I've become a "friend" of numerous others I didn't even know. Stacks of return envelopes are on my desk. A couple years ago I began receiving coins or stamps taped to the donation pledge cards. Some coins were quarters. I really felt bad because I didn't know whether I'd make a donation.

So I devised a plan. I placed the coins in a special jar labeled "donations." Then once a month, I decided on which organization that sent coins I'd respond to. I would total the coins, and add the amount to my regular donation. For the stamps, I'd return them in the donation envelopes.

My favorite charitable organization is KIVA. I donate online for this one. My favorite mail in donation forms are for the FOOD BANK. I don't have to worry about how my donation is being utilized. I see it in action every day these past three months. Individuals in my city and nearby Houston wait in long lines to receive food for their families. Now more than ever, the Food Banks need donations due to COVID-19.

Una vez que comencé a donar a una organización benéfica hace muchos años, me convertí en un "amigo" de muchos otros que ni siquiera conocía. Hay montones de sobres de devolución en mi escritorio. Hace un par de años comencé a recibir monedas o sellos pegados a las tarjetas de donación. Algunas monedas eran cuartos. Realmente me sentí mal porque no sabía si haría una donación.

Entonces ideé un plan. Coloqué las monedas en un frasco especial con la etiqueta "donaciones". Luego, una vez al mes, decidí a qué organización que enviaba monedas respondería. Totalizaría las monedas y agregaría la cantidad a mi donación regular. Para los sellos, los devolvería en los sobres de donación.

Mi organización caritativa favorita es KIVA. Dono en línea para este. Mi correo favorito en formularios de donación es para el BANCO DE ALIMENTOS. No tengo que preocuparme por cómo se utiliza mi donación. Lo veo en acción todos los días en los últimos tres meses. Las personas en mi ciudad y la cercana Houston esperan en largas filas para recibir comida para sus familias. Ahora más que nunca, los bancos de alimentos necesitan donaciones debido a COVID-19.

DOTTIE "DOC" MCSTUFFINS DOLL BY DISNEY

Doc McStuffins is a young female character, aged six, created by Disney in 2012. The Disney Channel aired the television cartoon series with the name "Doc McStuffins". In the series, Dottie "Doc" portrays a doctor. She loved to fix stuffed animals who get in trouble and need help. She also works on toys. All this was done from her playhouse. The series just ended in April of this year. However, it's still popular with young girls. My granddaughter, aged three at the time, fell in love the show. She just had to own the doll and the throw for her bed. She also owns the doctor's medical bag. Four years later, she still has all of her Doc items.

Doc McStuffins es un personaje femenino joven, de seis años, creado por Disney en 2012. Disney Channel transmitió la serie de dibujos animados de televisión con el nombre "Doc McStuffins". En la serie, Dottie "Doc" interpreta a un médico. Le encantaba arreglar animales de peluche que se meten en problemas y necesitan ayuda. Ella también trabaja en juguetes. Todo esto se hizo desde su casa de juegos. La serie acaba de terminar en abril de este año. Sin embargo, sigue siendo popular entre las chicas jóvenes. DIRECT TV

Direct TV. You either love it or hate it. No matter, some can't live live without it. Many use alternate services for their cable and satellite needs. Others use Netflix. But for those individuals who are steadfast in their loyalty to this digital satellite company, the Direct TV remote control is their lifeline to the outside world. Move it or place it where it can't be located within seconds, and you have a household in an uproar. Needless to say, I don't have that problem. But I live with someone who does. And that's all I'm going to say on that matter.

Direct TV. O lo amas o lo odias. No importa, algunos no pueden vivir sin él. Muchos utilizan servicios alternativos para sus necesidades de cable y satélite. Otros usan Netflix. Pero para aquellos individuos que son firmes en su lealtad a esta compañía de satélite digital, el control remoto Direct TV es su salvavidas para el mundo exterior. Muévalo o colóquelo donde no pueda ubicarse en cuestión de segundos, y tendrá un hogar alborotado. No hace falta decir que no tengo ese problema. Pero vivo con alguien que sí. Y eso es todo lo que voy a decir al respecto.
