Shakira, creo que ya fue suficiente (ESP/ENG)

Hola amigos, probablemente el título de este post les llame la a atención, quizá no lo comprendan, otros tal vez ya sepan más o menos de qué se trata, debido a toda la polémica que se ha armado últimamente a causa del lanzamiento del último tema de la artista colombiana en colaboración con el DJ argentino Bizarrap, cabe mencionar que yo fui fan de Shakira durante muchos, pero muchísimos años, desde que yo tenía ocho años para ser más exacta, admiraba su fuerza interpretativa en el escenario, pero sobre todo admiraba su música, una mezcla perfecta entre pop y rock alternativo, y desde luego sus letras, todas cargadas de sentido, de críticas sociales y de verdad, Shakira le cantaba a la vida, al amor e incluso al desamor pero lo hacía de una forma equilibrada y sobre todo con dignidad, sin embargo sus trabajos musicales desde hace un tiempo para acá han sido extremadamente básicos, al menos en mi humilde opinión.

Hello friends, probably the title of this post calls your attention, maybe you don't understand it, others may already know more or less what it's about, due to all the controversy that has arisen lately because of the release of the last song of the Colombian artist in collaboration with the Argentine DJ Bizarrap, it is worth mentioning that I was a fan of Shakira for many, but very many years, since I was eight years old to be more exact, I admired her interpretative strength on stage, but above all I admired her music, a perfect mix between pop and alternative rock, and of course her lyrics, all full of meaning, social criticism and truth, Shakira sang to life, to love and even to heartbreak but she did it in a balanced way and above all with dignity, however her musical works for some time now have been extremely basic, at least in my humble opinion.

It's no secret to anyone that for some time now, the star has radically changed her musical style, the alternative genre is no longer even a shadow, however I can't deny that although the change was radical, the rhythm was not bad, she knew how to handle it perfectly and her lyrics still had its essence, But in recent years Shakira is a complete stranger to me, she stayed with the urban genre, which, as we all know, does not require great talent, only empty lyrics (often scatological) repetitive rhythms and worse, abuse of ato-tune, a resource widely used to alter the natural sound of the voice.

Although I have never been in favour of writing songs to boyfriends or girlfriends, as it would be the same as getting their name tattooed, I can't deny that Shakira used to get a good inspiration through love, that's how great hits like "Suerte" or "Día de enero" were born (both dedicated to her partner at the time, Antonio de la Rua) but she went from writing lines like "I met you one day in January with the moon in my nose, and as I saw that you were sincere in your eyes I lost myself" to writing "Look, what a beautiful thing, What a round mouth, I like that little beard" so I wonder where did that bohemian and poetic Shakira go?

But what I honestly couldn't stand any more and made me say "That's enough" is his most recent display of little dignity (although he insists on demonstrating the opposite). I mean, I understand that the separation hurts, it's logical and natural, I understand how sad she must feel, I understand that she cries, that she complains, in short, that's part of the normal process of mourning, but seriously, was it necessary for her to write a song reproaching him? I'm referring to "Monotony", where she launches phrases like "You do your own thing and do the same thing, always looking for the limelight".

In the music video we see her crying, defeated, destroyed, heartbroken, she keeps repeating reproachful phrases such as "You left me because of your narcissism" but as if that wasn't enough to top it off she continues and releases another song full of reproaches "You've outgrown me and that's why you're with a girl just like you." this only speaks of the fact that she can't get over her separation, she feels burned and frustrated and thinks that by trying to humiliate her ex-partner and her lover she will get relief, but she only succeeds in making it clear that she has no dignity. The general opinion on this is divided, some people are of the same opinion as me, but it is impressive to see how many people, especially women, see this as a sign of strength and I can't understand why.
