[ESP-ENG] Recorriendo La Pampa: Sierras de Lihue Calel. / Touring La Pampa: Sierras de Lihue Calel.

Hoy dejaré de lado mis publicaciones tradicionales como son las recetas y seguiré contándoles esta recorrida que estoy haciendo (virtualmente, porque en realidad la he hecho en épocas pasadas) por mi querida provincia La Pampa (Argentina).

En esta oportunidad les muestro la gira, si asi se puede llamar, que hice allá por el 2010 cuando vivía todavía en Italia y volvía una vez al año a visitar mis familiares en Argentina.

El lugar elegido en esta oportunidad son las Sierras de Lihue Calel.

Today I will put aside my traditional publications such as recipes and I will continue to tell you about this tour that I am doing (virtually, because actually I have done it in the past) through my beloved province La Pampa (Argentina).

This time I show you the tour, if you can call it that, that I did back in 2010 when I was still living in Italy and I returned once a year to visit my relatives in Argentina.

The place chosen this time is the Lihue Calel Sierras.

Ubicación y significado del nombre. / Location and meaning of the name.

Las Sierras de Lihue Calel se encuentran en el centro geográfico de la provincia de La Pampa, a un costado de la ruta provincial 152 y son parte integrante y elemento distintivo del Parque Nacional que lleva el mismo nombre de la sierras.

Lo más increíble del paisaje es que, a medida que recorremos la ruta, vemos los cerros rodeados por una estepa tan monótona y de líneas tan regulares que parece no tener fin.

Tal vez hayan sido estos los elementos predominantes que llevaron a incorporar a esta provincia dentro de los beneficios de la llamada región patagónica, en consonancia con su paisaje.

Su significado en lengua mapuche es Sierras de la Vida. Tal como figura en el cartel de entrada al parque.

The Lihue Calel Sierras are located in the geographic center of the province of La Pampa, next to Provincial Route 152 and are an integral part and distinctive element of the National Park that bears the same name as the mountains.

The most incredible thing about the landscape is that, as we travel the route, we see the hills surrounded by a steppe so monotonous and with such regular lines that it seems to have no end.

Perhaps these were the predominant elements that led to the incorporation of this province into the benefits of the so-called Patagonian region, in line with its landscape.

Its meaning in the Mapuche language is Sierras de la Vida. As it appears on the entrance sign to the park.

Lo ideal es recorrerlas a pie aunque eso signifique un cierto esfuerzo físico.

Es el único modo de admirar ese paisaje de serranías intercalados por arroyos que lo convierten en una especie de oasis para el viajero.

Podemos también visitar el Valle de las Pinturas que es una especie de muestra del arte de los pueblos originarios que habitaron esta región hace más de dos siglos.

La zona preferida por los caminantes es la zona de los senderos. Hay varios y todos de distintas dificultad.

El Sendero del Valle Namuncurá es un sendero en subido que llega al cerro Sociedad Científica Argentina. Más que nada es un sendero hecho con el fin de observar las plantas y arbustos nativos de las sierras. Cuando se llega a la cumbre del cerro estamos a 600 metros sobre el nivel del mar y el panorama que se observa desde arriba es espectacular. Se ven absolutamente todas las sierras.

El Sendero interpretativo "Pinturas rupestres" como su nombre lo indica lleva al Valle de las Pinturas ya mencionado anteriormente.

Antes de llegar a este sendero nos encontramos con otro sendero llamado La Casona porque lleva directamente al que fuera el casco de la estancia “Santa María de Lihué Calel”

Hay varios senderos más, perfectamente señaldos y que indican itinerarios cortos que se pueden recorrer sin ningún tipo de problema.

Hay servicios sanitarios y de acampe básicos como zonas de fogón y parrilla, áarea de sombra, mesas y bancos, sanitarios con lavatorios, inodoros, y duchas con agua caliente las 24 hs y un botiquín básico de primeros auxilios a disposición.

We can also visit the ** Valley of the Paintings ** which is a kind of sample of the art of the original peoples who inhabited this region more than two centuries ago.

The area preferred by walkers is the area of ​​the trails. There are several and all of different difficulty.

The Namuncurá Valley Trail is an uphill path that reaches the Cerro Sociedad Científica Argentina. More than anything, it is a trail made in order to observe the native plants and shrubs of the mountains. When we reach the top of the hill we are 600 meters above sea level and the panorama seen from above is spectacular. You can see absolutely all the saws.

The interpretive trail "Rupestrian Paintings" as its name suggests leads to the Valley of Paintings already mentioned above.

Before reaching this path we come across another path called La Casona because it leads directly to the former “Santa María de Lihué Calel” farmhouse.

There are several other trails, perfectly marked and indicating short routes that can be covered without any problem.

There are basic sanitary and camping services such as fire pit and grill areas, shaded area, tables and benches, toilets with sinks, toilets, and showers with hot water 24 hours a day and a basic first aid kit available.
