I’ve been following the DBuzz project for a while. The way I see it, the @dbuzz team has been trying hard to launch a microblogging platform on HIVE, but they’ve had their hands tied by a group of Post-Police that don’t want HIVE to become a place for short-form content creation.

They've already launched the microblogging platform, that's where I saw this. I don't think the sticking point with people is so much short-form content itself, but rather the idea that it will draw upvotes away from content that people put more effort into.

Might draw upvotes away from longform content, but overall it brings value to the network, which can boost the price of HIVE, compensating for that.

The optional payout cap was a good idea to keep too many feathers from getting ruffled. I can't legally trade Hive for cash in NY state, so it's all just 'leveling up' to me. Anything that brings more people to the platform can only be good in the long run, IMO.
