Already answered. But, I will go one step ahead and will say " a hole made by a nail during one of your recent long runs on the sole of your running shoe".

It was obvious, wasn't it?

Yes, it's an outer sole of the running shoe under the heel.

And yes, it has a hole. In fact, tiny pebbles are still in it. I'll need something sharp and pointy to get them out. Yet, I am afraid that the hole will get bigger.

This is what you get when you go running on trails with the asphalt shoes :)

As for the promised reward. I'll divide the pot:

OMG, I'm going to try this one! 😂
So, my guess is - a hole on someones (maybe yours) 😉 shoe's (most likely the sneakers) sole!?! (The sole that would need a replacement if the owner doesn't plan to buy the whole new pair.) 😉

Now, I'm curious how close or far am I!?!
Although, (but that's not the answer I'm competing with) when I saw the photo at first (before opening the post), just as the thumbnail-photo, my first thought was, "Where in his country did he find that elephant with a tiny eye?!" 😅

Yes, it's a hole in the heel region of the outer sole. It will get bigger eventually.

Yet, I intend to use these running shoes for a while, with or without the hole. It's not a big issue until it gets very big.
