Figs are ripe
Eight days ago I told you about the two fig trees - Figs are almost ripe - which grow by our kitchen window, Now the figs are ripe. At least some of them.
Some of them are still too green to be eaten yet I am afraid that they will fall off by themselves.
The recent summer showers doesn't help either. Figs are soaked then the sun dries them then they are soaked again. Not healthy.
What I love about figs, besides that hey are on eof the most complete fruits, is that the are ripening through a longer period. While there are some fully ripe fruits on the tree there are many more of them still green and small. They will provide us with fresh figs for several weeks.

It is good that you have your own fig plants, you can access them every time you want to eat one, the fruits are always more exquisite when you pick them from the plant and consume it on the spot.

Growing your own food has its own sense of joy! I use to grow garlic in bulk on an organic farm.. It's hard work, that's for sure.

yup, elephant garlic too. I was basically like one of those southern farmers in my youth but instead of tobacco it was garlic haha.
