I played disc golf in a heavily wooded course with my son today. It was recently changed to an eighteen basket course and some of the tee pads were a bit difficult to find. The course had a lot of water on it too and our feet got wet. My son almost fell down when slipping on a wet tee pad.
The conditions made the scores a bit higher than I think they normally would have been for us. I won the first round and my son won the second.
I was getting kind of tired on the second round and did not do so well hitting my line. I ended up kicking off a lot of trees and had difficulty putting.
On the first round my son had a horrible time with the island hole and missed the island several times. When you land out of bounds and miss the island you really stack up points fast.
It was really fun to be out playing though and we both really liked the course and the new layout with additional baskets.
Here's a couple of pictures that I took today on the course:
I liked the burned out charcoal stump look here:
We were actually planning on playing at the local eighteen hole course that we usually play at but the river was flooding and the road was closed. I rained a lot yesterday.
It was cloudy today but not raining. That made it kind of dark in the woods. I was wishing I had remembered my glasses because it was hard to see the baskets.
