My Actifit Report Card: July 19 2020

I played a couple of rounds of eighteen holes at our favorite disc golf course with my son. The scores were not all that good. The first round we were feeling rushed a lot by a group of people who were in a hurry. We let them play through after a few holes and it was better after that but kind of set the tone for the round.

On the second round my son got on the double bogie train and things kind of went down hill on that round too.

I'm used to missing a few throws so I don't normally get too upset about it. Still when it gets to be a pattern it can be tough.

I was carrying a few more discs than I usually do and playing with some new to me ones that I don't really throw very often. I think I do better if I limit myself to smaller numbers of discs I know how to throw well but that does not give me the chance to learn new discs.

It was a hard day in general for a few different reasons and the weather has been unusually warm for around here. Most people are not that used to the heat in this area. From the sound of things we have nothing to complain about as compared to many parts of the rest of the country.

The river water was looking very reflective at the disc golf course this evening:

I was up on Mackinaw Island this weekend. There are no motor vehicles allowed. Many people were riding e-bikes which made me think of you. I was wondering if you were still happy with yours? Would you buy that brand again? Thanks for any help.

I'm really happy with my e-bike and would buy the Rad Power bike brand again. It was making a bit of noise in the hub at one point but it it whisper quiet now. I might be tempted to get the geared hub version with more torque in the motor next time. (It was a hard decision between getting the RadRover with a geared hub and the RadCity.)

The RadCity I purchased, recovers energy when braking but I'm not sure that is that big of an advantage and it does not free wheel as well as a geared hub. More power would be nicer though for faster starting and hill climbing. It is really not that bad though and there is less to potentially go wrong with no gears in the hub. It would be fun to try them both - maybe I might modify my mountain bike to use battery assist and a geared hub.

Hey thanks for the info!

Well that might be a reason for your son to get one so you can try them side by side lol.
