Clearly the MVP of my Bonsai tree collection, the Hawthorne tree looks amazing no matter what time of year it is.

The weed tree is natively adapted to my climate, and it has a natural habit for small oak shaped leaves and curvaceous lateral branches.

Each year the tree gets more richly decorated with a fuller set of healthy green leaves.

It stands up to the toughest summer sun.

So long as I clip off the sharp thorns that hide under the leaves, the tree is extremely stress free.

A ton of coiled roots were removed this past Spring, and the tree has not shown any signs of stress. Almost the opposite. The tree is refreshed with new space for healthy growth to fill in.

My tree is a heavy drinker through. The soil tends to dry out daily, and so it appreciates being re-watered frequently.

I've been meaning to get a few of my bonsai shared on here. I don't have a hawthorn, even though they are incredibly common in the hedgerows around here. Next time I'm out and about with 1/2pint, I'll see if I can find a worthy specimens to bring home and transform.
