Blue Monday for a Disco Tuesday

Legendary song and its best versions

Some of you old folks might know Blue Order - I got to know them in my young years. They were called in our local shows as an indie electronic band - did not understand whatever that means - but I loved it and it is one of these always hot tracks that you always listen to. Correct me if I am wrong :-)

Check, listen and Dance

For Disco Tuesday by @musicgeek here this groovy old song that combines several styles here in various versions. The original from New Order has been published back in 1983 and was the breakthrough of this British band that came from the post punk area and did not find a fit into one scheme only. It is a bit Dance, early Techno sounds with synthi pop elements and rock.

Lyrics

How does it feel to treat me like you do?
When you've laid your hands upon me and told me who you are
I thought I was mistaken, I thought I heard your words
Tell me how do I feel
Tell me now, how do I feel
Those who came before me lived through their vocations
From the past until completion, they'll turn away no more
And still I find it so hard to say what I need to say
But I'm quite sure that you'll tell me just how I should feel today
I see a ship in the harbor
I can and shall obey
But if it wasn't for your misfortune, I'd be a heavenly person today
And I thought I was mistaken, and I thought I heard you speak
Tell me, how do I feel
Tell me now, how should I feel
Now I stand here waiting
I thought I told you to leave me when I walked down to the beach
Tell me how does it feel, when your heart grows cold, grows cold, cold

In addition, I would like to recommend a movie called 24 Hour Party People, about music scene in Manchester between 1976 and 1992, including history of New Order.

Real iconic track, have heard it covered, mashed up so many times - another was with Kylie's "Can't Get You Out of My Head". Blue Monday definitely had some influence on my sounds today with their electronic beats. Thanks for the memories!
