Bug Macro Photography

(Edited)

Hey guys! I hope you are all keeping safe and well.

My aim in 2021 is to develop my photography skills and in particular, my macro work.

Here are some macro shots that I took this year.

To create this look, I used a light box, some helping hand clips to hold the flower, my little bug friend was borrowed from the garden and returned safe and well after the photo shoot.

I’m not sure of the beetles correct name... maybe someone can help me out with that? 😁

I also have a new macro rail and pc so I will be trying my hand at lots of stacked shots next year too.

If you have any suggestions for interesting close-up subjects that you would like to see photographed, please let me know in the comments!

Much love, C and the bulldogs xx

@dannewton is up your way and has an interest in bugs. Maybe he can identify it. We get some like that, but I just call them all shield bugs.

@steevc thanks for the tag!

@beautifulbullies thank you for the kind words, you've got some lovely images too.

As for the bug in this post, it is a nymph of one of the Shield bugs. I suspect it is the Common Green Shieldbug (Palomena prasina)

This British Bugs website is a fantastic resource, not just for shield bugs but for most of the Bugs we can see in the UK.

Beautiful images (the 3rd one down is stunning!)

If we look at this bug by our eyes or even up close our face, we can't see any details that much. But macro photography will definitely help us see thing clearly. Your bug macro photography is well styling that brings more interesting details of the bug and its own beauty.

Cheers/!WINE
