17 May 2021 - Walking on both sides of the tracks

I had some business in the large building next to the tracks that day that you can see in this image. After that I decided to go for a walk and check out the area.

Somehow I have an affinity for railroads - perhaps, having spent some time travelling on them, sometimes for days at a time in my youth. The images of them from that time in Russia where mostly black-and-white, like this one.

I like the sound of train wheels, but I don't like to ride them, probably because I traveled a lot at one time. Sometimes the train ride took 3 days. This is very exhausting.

Took me 49 hours to get from Rostov to Moscow in Russia (1000 km) on an "informal train" once in the 1980's. +35C in Rostov, no A/C. That was a good weight loss program. 😀
