A Walk around Linacre Reservoirs

Linacre is a very easy walk around 3 reservoirs. The reservoirs supplied water to the local town but haven't been in operation since the 1990s. Walks are as long as you want with a choice of adding more distance to them. As per usual, the weather couldn't make its mind up. It was cloudy with occasional sun.

The trails are a good mix of walks near the water and woodland trails. We parked up at the lower car park and made our way into the woods via the steps.

It was lovely with the moss covering the walls and the branches of the trees.

As we passed the dam wall, we spotted a solo swan. It's not often you see a swan on its own, so its mate might be further up the reservoir.

Along the footpath, there were a lot of exposed tree roots. Even though they look interesting, I try to avoid them as they can easily trip you up or are very slippy when it's damp. So basically, you can end up on your arse one way or another!

The sun actually graced itself with its presence at one point.

Part of the walk is on the boardwalk over the water.

After following a circular route, we finished our walk at the pump house along the dam wall before ascending back up the steps to the car park.

Very nice walk around the reservoirs. So many oak trees.
