A little stroll in the city of Datong, China (6 pics)

Datong, China is not the most beautiful city.

In fact, there is not much to see since it was completely restored but at least they stayed true to the original version.

I prefer original monuments, even if they are crappy.

The fortified wall still makes good background for a photo.

The old town is cool, to bad that pretty much everything was restored also.

This is the "restored old city" of Datong, surrounded by the new buildings.

The real old town is cool, but it will also be restored because many houses are decrepit.

Would have loved to see all the “real” old town.

There are four arches in the middle of the old town.

Since the city carried out multiple restorations due to the lack of maintenance, they are not authentic, but they show us the scope of the roundabouts of the time.

We say: we eat with the eyes... we were looking for a place to eat.

Some locals told us to go there.

We don't normally go in flashy looking restaurant but since it was so well recommended, we went there and we were not disappointed.

Yummy.

Little surprise when returning to the hotel, the illuminated streets.

I like it when the cities add some life to the nightlife.
