There is a lot to see in Beijing; with over 21 million inhabitants and 3000 years of history, Beijing is one of the oldest cities in the world.

You can find modern and traditional architectural styles to please everyone.

Here is only a small collection of what I found walking around a bit.

We can see Drum Tower throughout China, but we rarely can see drums like in the one in Beijing.

The best part of the visit was the live drum show.

The sounds and energy were mesmerizing.

Hand-painted ceramic chair and table found in the Summer Palace garden.

My favorite piece is the table, with all the details in the dragon.

Would love to have one of this in my backyard.

I am sure my tea would taste better seated at that table.

The Temple of Confucius is the place where people paid homage to Confucius during the Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasty.

It was initially built in 1302 and additions were made during the Ming and Qing dynasties.

With is 5.4 acres (22,000 square meters), it is the second largest temple constructed for Confucius, the greatest thinker and educationalist in ancient China, ranking only behind the Temple of Confucius in Qufu, Shandong Province.

In the middle of the big citie, we can still find some quiet spot.

Here we can see some old boat sailing on the river.

It is mostly for tourists, but I find it cool to believe that some authenticity is still available in big cities.

The Beijing North Railway Station has been closed for renovation for a very long time but the oval-shaped buildings are sure interesting to see.

It was built in 1905 as one of the original stations of the Jingzhang Railway and is peculiar, it changes from the classical design.
