A walk through the spring downtown in Warsaw / Wiosenny spacer po dzielnicy Śródmieście w Warszawie

I was recently in the center of Warsaw, in the Śródmieście district, and saw many interesting, historic buildings there. First of all, they were pre-war tenement houses, which now look beautiful combnined with the lush green of spring trees.

Byłam niedawno w centrum Warszawy, w dzielnicy Śródmieście i zobaczyłam tam wiele ciekawych, zabytkowych budynków. Przede wszystkim były to przedwojenne kamienice, które pięknie teraz wyglądają, w zestawieniu z soczystą zielenią wiosennych drzew.

This is one of the beautiful tenement houses that I liked. You can see that the tenement house is renovated, but it has retained various interesting elements - e.g. thick columns or bay windows.

To jedna z pięknych kamienic, która wywołała u mnie efekt - wow. Widać, że kamienica jest odnowiona, ale zachowała różne ciekawe elementy - np. grube kolumny, wykusze, czy nietypowe okna.

There is an elegant restaurant at the bottom of the tenement house.

Na dole kamienicy mieści się elegancka restauracja.

A completely different style here, a cool modern building.

A tu zupełnie inny styl, fajny nowocześniejszy budynek.

Walking further, I noticed such an unusual, double-sided lamp. Once, in the past, such lamps were popular, now you see something like that very rarely.

Spacerując dalej zauważyłam taką nietypową, dwustronną lampę. To chyba styl PRLu, ale nie mam pewności, co do tego.

And this is the building of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Looks nice. Built in a classical style, with Greek Ionic columns.

A to budynek Ministerstwa Rolnictwa i Rozwoju Wsi. Niezła siedziba. Zbudowana w klasycystycznym stylu, z greckimi kolumnami w stylu jońskim.

These doors look great with the letters R engraved on them and an Ionian-style finish from the top.

Świetnie wyglądają te drzwi z wygrawerowanymi literami R i wykończeniem z góry w stylu jońskim.

And this is a different tenement house, I also liked it. It has quite good bas-reliefs - seashells.

A to inna kamienica, też mi się spodobała. Niezłe ma płaskorzeźby - muszelki.
