A brief trip back into early autumn =/= Kurz zurück auf Anfang Herbst 👹🍣🎎 Wonderful Japan ENG-GER

Now that the current year has turned into the home stretch and is about to cross the finish line, many of us like to look back on the past months and review what happened. This year was again rich in events and fortunately I can look back on some nice hours and some adventures that I don't want to miss in any case. Where it was best is always a question of the moment, because feelings fluctuate with the seasons and are constantly exposed to the various roller coasters life has to offer.

But that's perhaps why it's so important that we regularly make sure that our lives continue to be as exciting and stimulating as we would like them to be. Of course, there is always room for improvement and we all hope that so many things will be better next year. But in the last twelve months there have also been many things that have enchanted and excited us, and I am glad to have been part of it.

In the last few days we've had a little look at spring and summer, and today we're going back to autumn. Actually, right now it feels like autumn has just said goodbye, and all of a sudden handed over the scepter to its white and cold companion. But this autumn was actually quite long, and especially in its early days it didn't have much in common with the last few weeks, when things really got dressed up and we were enchanted by all those colorful leaves. And that's why this time we're looking back at a few days when it was significantly warmer and sunnier. Sometimes it feels as if it was ages ago, and that's exactly why I want to look back at these memories...

Jetzt wo das laufende Jahr in die Zielgerade eingebogen ist und kurz vor dem Zieleinlauf steht, schauen viele von uns gerne zurück auf die vergangenden Monates und lassen das Gescheheen Revue passieren. Auch dieses Jahr war wieder reich an Ereignissen und glücklicherweise kann ich dann doch auf so einige schöne Stunden und einige Erlebnisse zurückblicken, die ich auf keinen Fall missen will. Wo es am Besten war ist immer auch eine Frage des Momentes, denn Gefühle schwanken mit den Jahreszeiten und sind unentwegt den verschiedensten Achterbahnen augesetzt.

Aber daher ist es vielleicht auch so wichtig, dass wir uns regelmäßig vergewissern, dass unser Leben doch auch weiterhin so aufregend und anregend ist, wie wir es gerne hätte. Klar, es ist immer Platz und Luft für Steigerungen und wir alle hoffen ja nun, dass so vieles im nächsten Jahr besser wird. Aber auch in den letzten zwölf Monat gab es so Einiges, das verzückt und uns berauscht hat, und ich bin froh, dass ich dabei war.

Nachdem wir in den letzten Tagen einen kleinen Blick auf den Frühling und den Sommer geworfen haben, begeben wir uns heute noch zurück in den Herbst. Eigentlich fühlt es ja gerade so an, als hätte der Herbst sich gerade erst verabschiedet, und ganz plötzlich das Zepter an seinen weißen und kalten Kollegen übergeben. Aber der Herbst war eigentlich doch ziemlich lang, und hatte gerade in seinen Anfangszeiten so gar nicht viel gemein mit den letzten Wochen, in denen er sich noch einmal so richtig in Schale geworfen und uns mit seinem bunten Blätterkleid verzückt hat. Und deshalb schauen wir diesmal auch zurück auf ein paar Tage, an denen es noch bedeutend wärmer und sonniger war. Teilweise fühlt es sich an, als wäre es schon Ewigkeiten her, und gerade deshalb will ich mir diese Erinnerungen noch einmal vor Augen führen...

On some days in September, you wouldn't have thought that it was actually already autumn. At least I still felt as if it was summer and behaved accordingly.

Im September hätte man an manchen Tagen gar nicht auf die Idee kommen können, dass es ja eigentlich schon Herbst war. Ich zumindest habe ich noch so gefühlt, als wäre es Sommer und mich auch dementsprechend benommen.

But nevertheless, at various places nature has given us clear indications where we had stood at that moment, and these signs often came along really photogenic.

Aber die Natur hat uns dann doch an den verschiedensten Stellen eindeutige Hinweise gegeben, wo wir gerade gestanden haben, und diese kamen dann öfters auch so richtig fotogen daher.

A good seasonal indicator are also the clouds, which hang considerably lower in autumn and are also much denser. But just at the beginning of the season they look really good up there in the sky and help to create the right atmosphere.

Ein guter Jahreszeiten-Indikator sind auch die Wolken, welche im Herbst bedeutend tiefer hängen und auch dichter sind. Aber gerade zum Anfang machen sie sich am Himmel noch so richtig gut und sorgen dabei dann meist auch die richtige Atmosphäre.

And since it finally became a bit more pleasant again after that long and hot summer, we were almost running outside in the parks and woods again to explored some new territory.

Und da es nach dem langen heißen Sommer auch endlich wieder etwas angenehmer wurde, waren wir natürlich auch wieder draußen in den Parks und Wäldern unterwegs und haben dabei so einiges an Neuland erkundigt.

Especially the nature had managed in a very playful way to seduce me again and to spur my heart to soaring heights. I was allowed to constantly realize how wonderful it is in our part of the country, and how many great places I pass by during my trips.

Gerade die Natur hatte es wieder spielend geschafft, mich zu verführen und mein Herz so Höhenflügen anzustacheln. Ich durfte immer wieder feststellen, wie wundervoll es doch in unserer Ecke des Landes ist, und an wie vielen tollen Orten ich auf meinen Fahrten doch vorbei komme.

Although I am a child of the city, I feel more and more at home in the countryside and I don't want to miss exploring it regularly and discovering all the places that touch my longing so much.

Obwohl ich ja eigentlich ein Stadtkind bin, fühle ich mich auf dem Land immer mehr wohl und will es gar nicht missen wollen, dort regelmäßig auf Erkundung zu gehen und dabei all die Orte zu entdecken, die meine Sehnsucht so sehr berühren.

Sometimes new territory is much closer than you expect, and even we have had to realize that there are probably places we have simply overlooked so far. But fortunately we have been able to visit so many great locations over the course of the last few years, so we won't be short of destinations next year.

Manchmal ist Neuland ganz in der Nähe und auch wir mussten feststellen, dass es wohl Orte gibt, die wir bisher einfach übersehen haben. Aber glücklicherweise haben wir im Laufe der letzten Jahre so viele großartige Orte besuchen dürfen, so dass es uns an Zielen im nächsten Jahr nicht mangeln wird.

Out in nature, you should take your time and not just rush through your planned hikes. I also like to walk on fast, but I have learned that taking your time will allow you to see a lot more.

Draußen in der Natur sollte man sich ruhig Zeit nehmen und nicht nur durch seine geplanten Wanderungen hetzen. Auch ich bin gerne schnell unterwegs, habe aber lernen dürfen, dass mit etwas Weile man dann viel mehr zu sehen bekommt.

If you manage to move slowly and to take the opportunity to look closely, then sometimes time also stops and nature presents itself as if on a plate. Communication can also take place without any words, and I believe that this fellow here and I have understood each other in some way.

Wenn man selber langsam unterwegs ist und die Gelegenheit wahrnimmt, genau hinzusehen, dann bleibt auch manchmal die Zeit stehen und die Natur präsentiert sich wie auf einem Teller. Kommunikation kann auch ohne Worte erfolgen, und ich glaube, dass dieser Bursche hier und ich uns schon verstanden haben.

This year I have been able to realize several times that I really feel at home in this corner of the planet. Of course, my wanderlust keeps knocking, but even nearby there are still quite a few places I want to visit. Even after years, Japan hasn't lost any of its charm and the longer I'm here in this country, the more I feel that I'm just in the right place.

However, since life often has very different plans for us than we might have ourselves, I think I'd better continue to work on exploring and understanding as much as I can of this impressive country again next year. Everywhere the signs of time are indicating change, and many indicators are pointing rather in gloomy directions.

Let's all hope that the next year will bring more positive news and that we will all become friends again rather than further divide each other. Especially now in the last days of the year, we better reflect a little more and think about what unites us. There is plenty of those things, even if it's just the joy of living.

Auch in diesem Jahr habe ich mehrmals feststellen dürfen, dass ich mich doch in dieser Ecke des Planeten so richtig wohl fühle. Natürlich klopft mein Fernweh immer wieder an, aber auch in der Nähe gibt es noch etliche Orte, an denen ich einmal vorbei schauen will. Japan hat auch nach Jahren noch nichts von seinem Reiz verloren und je länger ich hier im Lande bin, desto mehr fühle ich, dass ich hier gerade genau richtig bin.

Da aber das Leben für uns oft ganz andere Pläne hat, als wir vielleicht selber, werde ich wohl auch im nächsten Jahr besser weiter daran arbeiten, wieder so viel wie möglich von diesem eindrucksvollen Land zu erkundigen und zu verstehen. Die Zeichen der Zeit stehen überall auf Veränderungen und viele Indikatoren zeigen eher in düstere Richtungen.

Hoffen wir alle, dass das nächste Jahr mehr positive News bringen wird und das wir alle wieder mehr zu Freunden werden, als uns noch weiter zu entzweien. Gerade jetzt in den letzten Tagen des Jahres, sollten wir besser ein wenig mehr reflektieren und uns auf das besinnen, was uns eint. Davon gibt es eine ganze Menge, und wenn es nur die Lust am Leben ist.
