It is a beautiful amphibious reptile found in countries such as Venezuela, Colombia, Panama, Guyana and Brazil. Its comfort zones are usually lakes, streams, rivers, cold areas and humid forests, I will tell you how I was able to have this encounter with such a beautiful reptile.

Es un hermoso reptil anfibio que se encuentra en países como Venezuela, Colombia, Panamá, Guyana y Brasil. Sus zonas de confort suelen ser lagos, arroyos, ríos, zonas frías y bosques húmedos, les contaré como pude tener este encuentro con tan bello reptil.

It all started when at the beginning of the day I decided to go to water the plants in the garden and I could see something strange on one of the leaves of my turmeric plants. I got close enough to see what it was?

I was amazed to see this frog. It was totally white and I could tell it was asleep, the water I sprayed on it gave it a calming effect. I ran out in search of my cell phone to capture this reptile beauty, when I got there it was still resting.

Todo comenzó cuando al principio del día decidí ir a regar las plantas del jardín y pude ver algo extraño en una de las hojas de mis plantas de cúrcuma. Me acerqué lo suficiente para ver qué era.

Me sorprendió ver esta rana. Era totalmente blanca y me di cuenta de que estaba dormida, el agua que le rocié le dio un efecto calmante. Salí corriendo en busca de mi móvil para capturar esta belleza de reptil, cuando llegué todavía estaba descansando.

It was totally relaxed and immobile in its place, little by little I approached the camera of my cell phone to capture this beautiful frog more closely, it slowly woke up and upon noticing my presence immediately began to change the color of its skin from white to green like the color of turmeric plants. It probably felt threatened and its defense system began to act on instinct. She thought my presence was a risk to her life and chose to change her color so much to throw off any predator in sight. It was a great moment for me to be able to observe how this cute frog mimicked the environment.

Estaba totalmente relajada e inmóvil en su lugar, poco a poco fui acercando la cámara de mi celular para captar más de cerca a esta hermosa rana, lentamente se despertó y al notar mi presencia inmediatamente comenzó a cambiar el color de su piel de blanco a verde como el color de las plantas de cúrcuma. Probablemente se sintió amenazada y su sistema de defensa comenzó a actuar por instinto. Pensó que mi presencia era un riesgo para su vida y optó por cambiar tanto su color para despistar a cualquier depredador a la vista. Fue un gran momento para mí poder observar cómo esta simpática rana se mimetizaba con el entorno.

She was very alert before any movement I would make so she could run away, then I sprayed some water on her and little by little she relaxed and then closed her pretty eyes. It has certainly been a nice day and even more so when I can find this kind of things from our beloved nature.

Estaba muy alerta ante cualquier movimiento que hiciera para poder huir, luego le rocié un poco de agua y poco a poco se relajó y luego cerró sus bonitos ojos. Sin duda ha sido un bonito día y más cuando puedo encontrar este tipo de cosas de nuestra querida naturaleza.
