Spices - focus stacking

in hive-194913 •  2 months ago

Today I played again with Zerene Stacker - focus stacking software. I haven't any special object so I took some Spices from my kitchen. I start getting used to it and I consider buying a license, now I'm still in the trial period. Basically ZS deliver a very good result, and it's fast and easy.

Here are the shoots:

stack from 15 images. Made with Panasonic GX8 and Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 60mm Macro lense

Flaxseed, sesame, sunflower, pumpkin seeds

stack from 8 images. Made with Panasonic GX8 and Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 60mm Macro lense

stack from 12 images. Made with Panasonic GX8 and Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 60mm Macro lense

Thank you for stoping by!

All images are very good and well made macros - I like the photo of the seeds most, because they look like pebbles on the beach ... cool 😉

Zerene Stacker is a great piece of software, I have tried it too, but somehow I still do prefer Photoshop. I have made a few tests a couple of weeks ago with macros that didn't come out well in Photoshop, but the results from ZS have been about the same.
I have to admit, that ZS has done a slightly better job than Photoshop, and that both had problems was my own fault, because I didn't focus on areas which should have been sharp. I'm just too impatient and want everything to go fast. Maybe I should give it another try in Winter or when the weather is too bad to go outside and I have some spare time ;)

Have a great weekend @outlinez 😊

Cheers and !BEER

Thank you @johannpiber. Yes Photoshop is my first choice software but it's a little bit slow and Zs deliver some better results, when I try it with old images. Of course as many images for the stack as a better result. Some times and I become lazy and male less photos 👍

Right, I completely understand you - laziness and impatience is my big problem, so I mostly concentrate on the things I want to have sharp in a flower or something else and take one shot or two or three. Then I merge them in Photoshop. If Photoshop does a good job I am satisfied, if not I do it manually ... or just take the best of the shots ;)

But sometimes I really try to take as many shots as possible to have everything sharp in the final image, and when Photoshop is able to make a crisp sharp image with no unwanted blurred areas I am happy and in the best mood to take the next shot ;)

Have a nice evening and a great Sunday tomorrow, @outlinez 🙂
