A Sunday of dark and light.

Some lovely rains here and I managed to get some lovely sights before the rain came down.

A bit tricky with the light, as a strong wind hurried the clouds along at a fair lick.

But yes, I was lucky to get some lovely shots this morning and we are very thankful for the rain. We are totally dependent on the rain in this country, as we are a water scarce country and lately, we have floods up north, where many people lost all that they possess and, in the south, we have a coastal city that is on its last legs due to a drought. They are soon to face what we call, day Zero, meaning that not a drop of water will be available for the residents. So now you can understand why we love the rain so much.

A final scene as we left to return home. The power cut was finished and now I could show you this.

A great way to spend the power cut hours don't you think?
We have some electrical powerless hours every day and it leads us straight into the warm embrace of Mother nature. In between taking photos, I can sit with a mug of coffee and read the morning newspaper, or I can spend some time meditating. Total freedom in nature and it helps when one steps off the treadmill of what we call life. I am sure that we all have problems of one type or another, and I know in my case, that nature is a great help to figure things out.

My heart goes out to everyone that is struggling on this day and may it be that you will overcome whatever has you in its grip. Know that nothing lasts and that there is an end to everything. We also have to face many problems, not of our own, although we have a few of our own, but people are really suffering here and after Covid, the power cuts are not making anything better. People are facing bankruptcy, as they have invested all of their savings and their pensions into small businesses and now, they are forced to close down due to a lack of business. Yet others have lost everything in the floods.

All of these occasions make me think how negligible our own problems are.
But such is life.

Beautiful photographs @papilloncharity , nature transmits to us the tranquility that real and busy life takes away, everything will be fine where you live, it is not easy, you just have to trust, look that in the meantime the beautiful views that you give us in your photographs reward them. You are using the word "lovely" a couple times in your post and this word was a great choice because "lovely" describes the images best 😊 and I love especially the first photo most: the little patch of light on the bottom of the mountain looks awesome 😀

Whenever I see other people struggling with life for reasons beyond their control, or losing everything because of the greed of others, or because Mother Nature doesn't distinguish between the innocent and the guilty, I realize that all my complaints are not worth to tell.

It is indeed "lovely" to me my friend and I am glad that you also like it. That little patch at the bottom of the mountain looked so much nicer to the naked eye and only your Photoshop abilities would have showed it closer to the real picture.

Oh yeah, things are really bad out there and if you for a moment would think how you would really feel after working for your whole life and then to lose everything that you own, then our problems seem to be very small 😟

With Photoshop I might even have tried to enhance the sunrays lighting up that place, I believe 😉 !LOLZ but your image is lovely anyway, and foremost it is honest compared to my Photoshop work 😊

My problems don't only "seem" small - they "are" small compared to yours and to the problems of these people who lost everything.

You see! That's exactly what I was thinking, as Photoshop would have picked up the sunbeam that lit up that little sunshine patch. But maybe my camera needs a pair of glasses, as its eyesight is not so good anymore 🤣 !LOLZ

We pray for all of them my friend, as they are going through a very hard time and they have to face a bleak future. Not even the mansions were spared in the floods and cars were simply washed away.
But then again, the floods and the fires also create much damages in the townships and many people there also lost everything.
Life is not meant to be like such 😟

I think I have said that before ... I don't add things to images, but I clone things out which are distracting. I don't fake images but I enhance what is already there to show what I have seen with my eyes ... even with glasses the cameras often don't get all the colours and so you have to do some work 😁 !LOLZ

Right, life is not meant to be that way and if we humans only would learn from our mistakes of from the mistakes of our ancestors it might not be that way.

Oh yes, you have indeed said that before and that's why I value your photos so much as they are the closest to the real thing. Now for a change, I will say that I am too lazy to fiddle with photos. Now this sounds very much like a lazy person that I know 🤣 !LOLZ

History and its valuable lessons will simply be ignored, and the cycle will simply repeat during the onslaught of greed my friend. I heard a very upset announcer on the car radio this morning, telling us about a man that stole so much money, that it could feed an entire township for a year 😟

Well, that's why I don't have to worry, as I can take as many photos as I want, without having to slog on Photoshop. That's why I rather leave it to specialists like you. They say if the shoe fits, then you must wear it 🤣 !LOLZ

Terrible indeed and it is so true that money corrupts and the more money that you get, the more corrupted you will become. Until you cannot sleep at night, as you lay on your bed worrying about your money and then you become terribly ill.

Looks like your rain will reach us in a day or two, so looking forward to some cooler weather!

Clouds look amazing along with everything else you capture during times the power goes off, last night was dazzling under the moon, I did not photograph stood enjoying the moment in darkness!

Oh! I am so glad to see that you guys will also get some rain, and it is saucing down here for most of last night and today. So plenty will get to you.

Thank you for the compliment Lady Joan and I did get the moon two nights ago.

Marian just told me that it will rain until 1pm tomorrow and hopefully the skies will clear, so that I can get the full moon on the mountains on the 7th of this month.

I hope that your Sunday was also sublime.

We had a good early morning thank you, and then the rain came for the rest of the day, plus 2 power cuts 😊 !LOLZ !PIZZA !LUV
